Warm upSing a song together to warm up.Step 2. Lead in Show the students some pictures of western tables to lead in what we are going to learn this class. Let students know the teaching aims of this lesson. Then name the things in the picture.Step 3. Presentation1. Listen to 1a. Show the passage on ppt. Ask students to complete the passage with their books closed. After that, invite someone to say what he/she has heard.2. Learn the new words and expressions. Read the words and expression after the teacher. Know the meaning of each word. Go on learning object clause led by whether/if.3. Read the passage in three minutes. Find out the main idea and finish 1b. Then check the answers. 4. A group work. Discuss what we have learned from the passage in groups. Give students some pictures about good manners and bad manners. Ask them to judge which behaviors are polite and which ones are impolite. After that, play a video about impolite behavior on a western table. Ask students to watch it and find out the bad manners in it. 2. Set a scene. If a friend of yours is going to England, please give him/her some advice of how to perform in a western dinner party. Write the sentence patterns they may use on the blackboard. Ask students to discuss in groups and invite someone to say in front of class. Evaluate their answers by giving points.Step 5. Sum up. Summarize what we have learned in this class. Let students know that we should always be polite to others and be a person with good manner, not only on a western table, but also in the other places. Step 6.
