1、 Unit 5 First Aid for burns說課稿 Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for giving me this opportunity to present my lesson. My topic is Unit 5 First Aid, which is taken from New Senior English for China, students Book 5. I will talk about my lesson from 7 parts.They are analysis of the teachin

2、g material, analysis of the students, the teaching aims as well as important and difficult points, the teaching and learning methods, the teaching aids, the teaching procedure and the blackboard design.Well,firstly I will talk about the part1 analysis of the teaching material. The New Course focuses

3、 on the students abilities to gather information; deal with information; solve problems and the abilities to think and express in English. My lesson is the first period of the unit. In my opinion, it is very important for the students to learn because it helps students a lot in getting the abilities

4、 mentioned above. It first introduces the importance of the skin to our body, then introduces types of burns, characteristics of burns and certain steps of first aid treatments. It is hoped that through the passage, the students will know how to perform first aid procedures for burns and do first ai

5、d calmly during an emergency. At the same time, they can develop their skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing. Then I will analyze the students : Although many students have the basic abilities of reading, listening, speaking and writing, they still need more opportunities to practice wh

6、at they have learned, to express their ideas. Some students are not active in the class, and some even dont like English.Therefore, I will let them study in a relaxed and agreeable atmosphere. So during my class, I will do more interactive teaching, e.g. group work , or role-play etc. Then the stude

7、nts will be interested in the class. Ok, lets move on another part: the teaching aims as well as important and difficult points. Firstly, knowledge aims : to master the important words and sentences patterns of this unit through this period:injure, bleed, organ, poison, swell, damage, mild etc.Then

8、,about abilities aims: to enable the students to have the ability to use what they have learned to do first aid treatment for burns correctly, meanwhile to improve the students reading skills,such as skimming and scanning skills.Thirdly, about moral aims: to increase students awareness of the import

9、ance of knowing about first aid. As for teaching important and difficult points: 1. How to help the students have the ability to use what they have learned to do first aid treatment for burns correctly.2. How to instruct the students to learn to get information and understand the information from th

10、e text. According to the analysis and requirement above , Ill try to use following teaching and learning methods to make students the real master of the class while the teacher myself the director, to lead and inspire the students to achieve the the teaching aims.( cooperating Method, situational Ap

11、proach, task-based teaching)Teaching Aids: multimedia, blackboard, textbook, chalk. In order to make my teaching tasks understood better, during the whole teaching procedure I will mainly use multimedia, and blackboard will be used to show some important words or expressions. Now I will talk about t

12、he most important part, that is, teaching procedure.I design six steps to deal with this reading passage.Step I Warming up (3minutes) Firstly, tell a story to lead in the topic of this unit. Then show the students 6 situations in which something unexpected happened to let them answer three questions

13、 and find out what first aid is and be aware of the importance of it. This step is to arouse the students interest in this topic and improve the students awareness of safety.Step II pre-reading (2 minutes)Show a picture and answer 3 questions: 1. What is on the cupboard? 2. What has happened to the

14、little girl? 3. What kind of first aid would her mother give to her? I want to use this step to set up the suspense and lead in the new lesson, and let the students know some background knowledge of the lesson. Step III Fast reading (3minutes) Instruct the students to skim and scan the whole passage

15、 to finish Exercise 1on page35. This method is to develop the students reading skills to get the general idea. Step IV Detailed reading (25minutes)In this step, there are 5 tasks.Task1 Read Part 1:Find out the functions of skinTask2 Read Part 2 : Find out the causes of burns. Purpose: To find out th

16、e necessary information in a short time through scanning.Task3 Read Part 3&4 : find out the types and characteristics of burns Purpose: To get familiar with the types and characteristics of burns. Task4 Read part 5 : put the steps into right order and answer some questionsPurpose: To get detailed in

17、formation about the treatments for burns through careful reading Task 5 Fill in the blanksPurpose: To consolidate what they have learned in this lesson and have a better understanding of the teaching material. In this part,all tasks will be provided on the screen and be finished by using competition

18、s. I will divide the class into 3 groups.If a student can answer the question correctly,then his/her group can get one point. And the group which gets the most points is winner. Only through cooperation can the students taste the joy of success. If the students know their answer is right, he will be

19、 confident and they will surely become more interested in learning English. These tasks are designed from the easiest one to the most difficult one for different levels students. In this step , students can improve their sense of cooperation and the ability to get some detailed information. Step V Role play (group work)(10 minutes)Use what they have known and what they have learned in this lesson to act out how to perform first aid to people in the different unexpected accidents. This is an interesting task-based activity. The step is to develop the students abilities to speak
