17、lking to Helen Bates on the telephone. After that she looked at the mess she had made. Her fingers, the telephone and the doorknobs were coveredwith pastry. Just then the postman rang the doorbell. He wanted her to sign for a registered letter.1.d 根據(jù)課文第6-12行,只有d. at an inconvenient time (在不方便的時候)與課文

2. b 根據(jù)課文第6-12行,可以判斷只有b. the writer was interrupted several times while making meat pies (當作者做肉餡時幾次被打斷)才是Everything got into a mass 所以a. the, b. A, c. This 都不對。4. b

Nothing could have been more annoying a. the more 不是最高級;b. more 只能用于比較級;c. most 前面缺少定冠詞,不能表示最高級;只有d. the most 是最高級形式,最符合題目意思,所以選d.6. b Helen Bates (海倫? 所以選b.7. a 只有a. when 可以同這一句中的hardly 連用,表示“剛剛就”,所以選a. 8. d a. joining them(連接它們,加入他們的行列); b. uniting them(聯(lián)合統(tǒng)一他們) c. unifying them(統(tǒng)一他們) d. putting them together(把它們放到
