How do the architecture balanced the colors? Yellow is the symbol of the royal family. Yellow became an imperial color during the Tang dynasty,

3、 when only members of the royal family were allowed to wear it and use it in their architecture.Dragon and Yellow Since yellow is the symbol of the royal family, it is the dominant color in the Forbidden City. Roofs are built with yellow glazed tiles; decorations in the palace are painted yellow; ev

4、en the bricks on the ground are made yellow by a special process.

Red has always been symbolic of happiness.Being bright colors, they give a sense of warmth and passion.

All of the individual buildings in the Forbidden City have roofs covered with golden glazed tiles and vermilion walls.

7、The red color of the numerous pillars supporting the buildings also has a strong visual impact. On a clear day, the panorama presented by glistening golden tiles on the top of red buildings under a blue sky resembles a dreamland among the green trees surrounding the Forbidden City. 9、aces on which they stand, form a striking contrast in color. However, there is one exception. Wenyuan, the royal library, has a black

The reason is that it was believed black represented water then and could extinguish fire. Ancient craftsmen who built the Forbidden City, applied the func
