設(shè)計(jì)靈感武漢市的“水杉”是第四紀(jì)冰川時(shí)期的古老植物—

—水杉。水杉享有“活化石”和“古老的世界之爺”之稱(chēng)，最初生長(zhǎng)在約1.3億年前的北極圈，以后分布在歐、亞、北美三洲，在300萬(wàn)年以前它們?cè)鴱V泛分布在北半球的各個(gè)地區(qū)。但是，到了近代，受氣候變化的影響，水杉曾一度被世界各地的植物學(xué)家認(rèn)為已經(jīng)滅絕了。然而在1941年，我國(guó)科學(xué)家首次在2湖北省利川市發(fā)現(xiàn)了水杉林區(qū)，并于1945年正式定名該樹(shù)種為水杉。這在當(dāng)時(shí)成為轟動(dòng)一時(shí)的世界新聞。武漢K11購(gòu)物藝術(shù)中心的景觀再次發(fā)掘并慶祝-“水杉”這個(gè)活化石物種。在每一個(gè)空間,水杉不僅是以它常見(jiàn)的形式讓使用者欣賞。通過(guò)其不同細(xì)節(jié)在地景中的放大和抽象,我們可以欣賞,贊嘆和慶祝這神奇物種的復(fù)雜性和充滿藝術(shù)性的美-1.3億年水杉之慶典Wuhan’s

City

is

originated

around130

millionyears

ago

inthe

Arctic

Circle.And

it

trivedinthe

three

continents:

Europe,

Asia,

North

America

andvarious

regions

of

the

northern

hemisphere

till

300million

years

ago.

After

that

period

botanists

aroundthe

world

believed

the

species

to

be

extinct

due

to

theimpacts

of

climate

change.

However,

in

1941,

Chinesescientists

rediscovered

Metasequoia

in

Icheon

City,Hubei,

and

in

1945

it

was

officially

named

asMetasequoia.The

landscape

of

K11

Art

Mall

celebrates

the

livingfossil

-

Metasequoia

,

in

every

aspect

of

its

form.

It

isnot

only

being

admired

through

its

usual

size

and

scale,but

through

the

enlargement

and

abstraction

of

itsparts,

we

are

to

appreciate

and

celebrate

the

intricacyand

beauty

of

thismagical
