EDI整個過程無需人工介入，達到無紙化完成數(shù)據(jù)交換。它的工作原理如圖6-3所示。圖6-3EDI的工作原理

Figure6-3WorkingprincipleofEDIEDI單證處理過程EDIdocumentprocessingprocess1.生成EDI平面文件用戶應(yīng)用系統(tǒng)將用戶的應(yīng)用文件(如單證、票據(jù)等)或數(shù)據(jù)庫中的數(shù)據(jù)取出，通過映射(Mapping)程序把用戶格式的數(shù)據(jù)變換為一種標準的中間文件。這個中間文件稱為平面文件(flatfile)，這一過程稱為映射(Mapping)，平面文件是一種普通的文本文件，其作用在于生成EDI電子單證，以及用于內(nèi)部計算機系統(tǒng)的交換和處理等。應(yīng)用文件是用戶通過應(yīng)用系統(tǒng)直接編輯、修改和操作的單證和票據(jù)文件，可直接閱讀、顯示和打印輸出。1.GenerateanEDIplanefileTheuserapplicationsystemtakesouttheuser'sapplicationfiles(suchasdocumentsandbills)ordatafromthedatabaseandtransformstheuser-formatteddataintoastandardintermediatefilethroughtheMappingprogram.Thisintermediatefileiscalledaflatfile,andtheprocessiscalledMapping,Flatfileisacommontextfile,itsfunctionistogenerateEDIelectronicdocuments,andusedforinternalcomputersystemexchangeandprocessing.Applicationfilesaredocumentsandbillsthatusersedit,modifyandoperatedirectlythroughtheapplicationsystem.Theycanberead,displayedandprintedoutdirectly.EDI單證處理過程EDIdocumentprocessingprocess2.翻譯生成EDI標準格式文件將平面文件通過翻譯軟件生成EDI標準格式文件。EDI標準格式文件，就是所謂的EDI電子單證，或稱電子票據(jù)。它是用戶之間進行貿(mào)易和業(yè)務(wù)往來的依據(jù)，具有法律效力。它是按照EDI數(shù)據(jù)交換標準(即EDI標準)的要求，將單證文件(平面文件)中的目錄項，加上特定的分隔符、控制符和其它信息，生成的一種包括控制符、代碼和單證信息在內(nèi)的只有計算機才能閱讀的ASCII碼文件。2.TranslatedandgeneratedEDIstandardformatfilesEDIstandardformatfilesaregeneratedfromflatfilesthroughtranslationsoftware.EDIstandardformatdocuments,istheso-calledEDIelectronicdocuments,orelectronicbills.Itisthebasisfortradeandbusinesscontactsbetweenusersandhaslegaleffect.ItisinaccordancewithEDIdataexchangestandard(EDIstandard)requirements,documentfile(flatfile)directoryitems,plusspecificdelimiters,controlsymbolsandotherinformation,generatedacontrolsymbol,codeanddocumentinformation,includingonlycomputercanreadASCIIfiles.EDI單證處理過程EDIdocumentprocessingprocess3.通信這一步由用戶端計算機通信軟件完成。通信軟件將已轉(zhuǎn)換成標準格式的EDI報文，經(jīng)通信線路傳送至網(wǎng)絡(luò)中心，將EDI電子單證投遞到對方的信箱中。信箱系統(tǒng)自動完成投遞和轉(zhuǎn)接，并按照X.400(或X.435)通信協(xié)議的要求，為電子單證加上信封、信頭、信尾、投送地址、安全要求及其它輔助信息。3.CommunicationThisstepisaccomplishedbytheclientcomputercommunicationsoftware.CommunicationsoftwaretransmitsEDImessagesthathavebeenconvertedintostandardformatstothenetworkcenterthroughcommunicationlines.SendEDIelectronicdocumenttothemailboxoftheotherparty.Themailboxsystemautomaticallydeliversandtransferselectronicdocumentsandaddsenvelope,header,tail,deliveryaddress,securityrequirementsandothersupportinginformationasrequiredbytheX.400(orX.435)communicationprotocol.EDI單證處理過程EDIdocumentprocessingprocess4.EDI文件的接收和處理接收和處理過程是發(fā)送過程的逆過程。用戶首先需要通過通信網(wǎng)絡(luò)接人EDI信箱系統(tǒng)，打開自己的信箱，將EDI報文接收到自己的計算機中，經(jīng)格式檢驗、翻譯和映射，還原成應(yīng)用文件，最后對應(yīng)用文件進行編輯、處理和回復(fù)。4.ReceivingandprocessingEDIdocumentsThereceivingandprocessingprocessesarethereverseofthesendingprocess.First,usersneedtoaccessEDImailboxsystemthroughthecommunicationnetwork,opentheirmailbox,receiveEDImessagestotheircomputers,andrestorethemtoapplicationfilesafterformatinspection,translationandmapping,andfinallyedit,processandreplytheapplicationfiles.EDI單證處理過程EDIdocumentprocessingprocess圖6-4單證轉(zhuǎn)換例子
