Focus:if條件句在英語里,當句子的主句為將來時態(tài)時,它所引導的時間狀語從句和條件狀語從句都使用一般現(xiàn)在時來表示將來時間,這在英語里被稱為“主將從現(xiàn)”。主句的將來時態(tài)并不僅限于我們這一課里所學習到的will+動詞原形構成的一般將來時,還包括begoingto+動詞原形、bedoing所表示的一般將來時以及我們以后會學到的其它的將來時態(tài)。例如:Whatishegoingtodowhenhegrowsup?他長大了想干什么?WeareleavingforAmoytomorrowifitdoesn’train.如果明天不下雨,我們就去廈門。Wewillbuythatmicrowavenextweekifitspricekeepsgoingdown.如果價格持續(xù)下降,下個禮拜我們就買那臺微波爐。If+……,I’ll/you’ll+……
↘↙↘↙條件結果Forexle:Ifyoustudy,I’llbehappy.wearjeanstoschool,you’llbesorry.getuplate,you’llbelate.eattoomuch,you’llbefat.washyourclothesyourself……1.Structure這里if所引導的是真實條件句(realconditional),即所假設的條件有可能成為現(xiàn)實,表達假定所假設的條件實現(xiàn)時會出現(xiàn)的情況或會采取的行為。有時,我們可以使用并列結構的祈使句來表達這種類型的條件句。e.g.Ifyousetyouralarmclock,youwon’toversleep.如果你上鬧鐘,你就不會睡過頭了。Setyouralarmclock,andyouwon’toversleep.Ifyougivehimaninch,hewilltakeamile.他會得寸進尺。Givehimaninch,andhewilltakeamile.Ifyoudon’tgivehimsomefood,hewillstarve.如果你不給他一點吃的,他就會餓死。Givehimsomefood,or/elsehewillstarve.(1)條件狀語從句通常由連詞if引導,意為“如果、假如”,主句不能用begoingto表示將來,而應該用shall、will。
e.g.Ifyouleavenow,youarenevergoingtoregretit.(錯誤)
Ifyouleavenow,youwillneverregretit.(正確)(2)if“如果”,引導條件狀語從句,主句用一般將來時,從句則用一般現(xiàn)在時,如:
Ifitrainstomorrow,Ishan’tclimbthehills.2.用法注意:賓語從句中的if與條件狀語從句if的區(qū)別。賓語從句中的if“是否”相當于whether,引導賓語從句,時態(tài)需根據(jù)語境確定。
Idon'tknowifitwillraintomorrow.我不知道明天是否會下雨。在閱讀英文文章時,我們有可能看到這樣的句子:Ifmyfatherwillgivemepermission,Ishallspendafewmonthsabroad.如果我父親同意,我將在國外待幾個月。Ifyouwilltakethetroubletoreadhislettercarefully,youwillseewhathemeans.如果你肯花一些時間來認真讀他的信,你就會明白他是什么意思了。在if-分句中中用“will+動詞原形”并不單純表示將來意義,這里的will是個表示“意愿”的情態(tài)動詞,相當于bewillingto(愿意)。要注意這種帶“will+動詞原形”的if-分句在某些場合是不可以隨便用的,比如我們可以說:Ifhegetsmyletterintime,he’llbeabletochangehisplans.如果他及時收到我的信,他就能改變他的計劃。卻不可以說成:Ifhewillgetmyletterintime,he’llbeabletochangehisplans.另外,在if-分句中還可能使用“would+動詞原形”的結構,這種用法還是表示“意愿”,常用于表示客氣的請求,這時主句動詞既可以用will/shall+動詞原形,也可以用would/should/could/might+動詞原形。如:IfyouwouldtryItalianfood,youwouldlikeit.如果你愿意嘗嘗意大利食物,你會喜歡它的。Ifyouwouldreservetheseats,wewouldbesureofacomfortablejourney.如果你愿意訂座,我們將肯定會有一個舒適的旅程。1.如果你不趕快走,你就會遲到。2.如果你愛你的父母,你應當幫他們做做家務。3.如果你更友善一些,你會教上很多好朋友。Exercise
