Somepeopleareoftheopinionthattheenvironmentalproblemisthepricewehavetopayforeconomicdevelopment.ButIdonotthinkthatthisargumentisvalid.Afterall,whatisthepointofeconomicgrowthifpeople’slivesareadverselyalfectedbyworseningenvironmentalpollution?

Thereisplentyofevidencetoshowthatsustainabledevelopmentcanbeachievedbybalancingeconomicgrowthwithprotectionoftheenvironment.Thekeytoachievingthisistomakepeopleawareoftheseriousnessoftheproblem.Bothgovernmentsandordinarycitizensshouldjoinhandstomakethisworldabetterplacetolivein,notonlyforourselves,butalsoforfuturegenerations.
