OneofChina*smostfamousBuddhistpagodas,theGiantWildGoosePagodawasbuiltintheTang

Dynasty(618-907)fbrthestudyofBuddhistscriptures.Oneofthemainfunctionsofthepagodawasto

storesutras(經(jīng)文)broughttoChinafromIndiabythefamousmonkandtravelerXuanZang,Itwasbuilt

withlayersofbricksandhasagrandstructureandappearance.ltisexemplaryoftraditionalChinese

architecture.
