一、英語短篇小說閱讀的意義

1.適合中學(xué)課堂

對于課業(yè)繁重的中學(xué)生來說，英語長篇小說情節(jié)復(fù)雜，任務(wù)繁雜，難以把握。在英語課堂中閱讀長篇小說摘要也不能起到讓學(xué)生感受地道語言的作用。而英語詩歌格式多樣，韻律深?yuàn)W，內(nèi)容抽象，讓人望而卻步。短篇小說就是敘述一個(gè)故事，作為一種文學(xué)形式，它在19世紀(jì)和20世紀(jì)初達(dá)到鼎盛時(shí)期。但作為一種敘述故事的方法，在《圣經(jīng)》中就被大量使用。英文短篇小說更接近生活，情節(jié)較單純，人物更清楚，文字相對淺顯，小說的韻味相對容易體會。由于短篇小說相對篇幅較短，也易于教師在英語課堂進(jìn)行指導(dǎo)閱讀。
