Lead-in,Show the following pictures let students name them in English and talk about them.,Step :Warming up Warming up by sharing and dicussing. Ask studengts to answer or discuss questions like the following. (1)How much do you know about the Olympic Games held in Beijing in 2008? (2)What can we do for the 2008 Olympic Games?,2、 Warming up by making a survey ,show the following on the screen. (1)When did the ancient Olympic Games started? (5)Who could not take part in the ancient Olympic Games ?,(776 BC),(393AD),( one Greece),(Greece),(slaves and women),(6)When and where did modern Olympic Games start? (7)Who was Chinas first gold medal winner and for what even? (8)What are the three words that show the spirit of the Olympic Games? (9)What do the five rings on the olympic flag stand for ? (10)What are the official mascots for the Beijing Olympic?,(Athens in 1896),(Xuhaifeng for shooting),(swifter, higher, stronger),(the five contient),(They are Beibei ,the fish;Jingjing, the panda ; Huanhuan , the Olympic flame;Yingying, the Tibetan antelope,and Nini, the Swallow ),Step Pre-reading 1、Discussing and answering.
