Unit 11 Section B Reading 教案 The winning TeamStep1. Greeting &PresentationT-ss: Hello, every one! Im very glad to share the English class with you today. Do you hope to have an interesting class today? Ill try not to let you down. Lets work hard together. Another way we can say pull together. Shall we pull together? OK! Lets _.Then lets get to know each other first. T-s: Hello! Whats your name please? Xx, Nice to meet you! T-s: Hello! May I know your name? xx ,Nice to meet you ! Oh, Sorry, Ive made a mistake .Its my fault. Im nervous and I feel like there was a heavy weight on my shoulders because this is the first time I give you a class.T-ss: Have I let you down? Thank you! So you wont kick me off your class, right? Will you kick me off the class? Thank you! You are so kind. You give me a big courage to go on the class. Step 2. Pair wokT: Have you ever made such kind of mistake? Have you ever made a mistake? T: To my relief, you all have made mistakes as well as me. How did you feel when you made a mistake? Talk with your partner about your mistake and feeling with the words or phrases in the box.Model:A: Have you ever made a mistake? B: Yes. I cheated in a test. ReadingTask 1.Read the picture and titleT: We all have made mistakes, so has Peter. Who is Peter? Look at the picture, Peter is with his teammates. How many teammates are there in a usual soccer team at least? How many coaches are there in a usual soccer team at least?(超鏈接)A soccer coach is coaching the soccer teammates kicking a goal. T:Lets watch a game piece. Oh! He score a goal wonderfully! Another piece. Oh, Its a pity, he has missed scoring a goal. T: To win a game, what is the most important? A. teammates, B. coach, C. courage, D, team effort(努力) Yes, I think so. I think soccer is about team effort. All the teammates should support each other and pull together.T: From the picture of Peters soccer team, can you guess what Peters mistake is?Task 2.SkimmingT: He missed a goal. What happened to him after he made such a mistake? Lets skim and number the events in the correct order._Peter got home and went into his room._Peter talked to his teammates._1_Peter missed a goal._Peters father gave him advice._Peter realized that he was worried for no reason.First lets check the answer. Answer :2.4.1.3.5 Read aloud together.Task 3. Scanning(group work)T: Clever! Its a piece of cake for you! Its calledan idiom. An idiom is a phrase or a sentence with a special meaning that is different from the meanings of the individual words. Lets read these idioms.T: Weve learnt so many idioms in this story. Lets find idioms or phrases from the story to replace the underlined parts of these sentences. T: Excellent! Task 4. Careful readingT: Its a piece of cake even though the story is so long. It has 11 paragraphs. Lets divide the story into three parts. Beginning, development and ending.Part 1(Paragraph 1) the beginning of the story1.What is the first part talk about?Peter was angry with his mistakes that made his team lose the soccer game.2.How did Peter feel?He felt like there was a heavy weight on his shoulders.3.What was he worried then?He was worried that his coach might kick him off.Part 2(Paragraph 2-6) the development of the story1.What is the second part talk about?Peters father saw his feelings on the face ,then communicate with him and give him some advice.2.What kind of advice did Peters father offer him?T: Before answering the question, lets read Peters fathers words aloud from Para 3-6. Do you understand what Peters father said? Let finish the small exercises (超鏈接下面部分)1).Dont be too hard on yourself. A. put too much pressure on B. be too difficult to2).Soccer is about team effort. Then what did he do at last. Lets read in groups ,then retell the ending of the story in groups with about 5 sentences. Now weve learnt the whole story. Have you known why it is called The Winning Team? Though the team lost the game, it has a good team spirit that would help them achieve success in the future. So it is a winning team. Step 4.Discussion (group work)T: Peters team is a winning team. What about our class? The science art festival is coming, would you like to be winning team? How to make our class be a winning team. Lets discuss in groups.T: Class is also about a team effort. If one classmate makes a mistake. Dont be too hard on him or kick him off your class. It will make him feel there is a heavy weight on the shoulders. Classmates should support each other. Besides, we should learn how to communicate with our classmates and learn from our mistakes.
