Even if they did know who you were:
7、“Do” can be put in front of a verb to show emphasis. 在動詞前加do表示強調(diào)。 She does talk a lot, doesnt she? 2). vacant /tnkIev5/: a. not filled or occupied; empty 空著的;未被占用的;空的 a vacant room vacant land a vacant position a vacant seat 3). said very politely that my name was Mark Twain and could I have but he
8、cut me short again: said后面有兩個賓語從句,my name was Mark Twain 和 could I have 。從語法的角度看,第二個從句應使用間接引語if I could have。作者在這里使用直接引語could I have的目的是模仿當時說話的情形,以便和下文“但他又一次打斷了我”更好地銜接起來。破折號表示尚未說出口的two tickets。4).
