30、ok its turn to illuminate to the earth.But one day all ten suns appeared together,scorching the earth with their heat.The earth was saved by a strong and tyrannical archer Hou Yi.He succeeded in shooting down nine of the suns. One day,Hou Yi stole the elixir of life from a goddess.However his beauti

31、ful wife Chang E drank the elixir of life in order to save the people from her husband's tyrannical rule.After drinking it,she found herself floating and flew to the moon.Hou Yi loved his beautiful wife so much;he didn't shoot down the moon. Chang E floated to the moon on the fifteenth day o

32、f the eighth moon,people offer annual prayer and sacrifices to the moon on that day to commemorate the event.It is said that Chang E transforms herself into brilliant moonlight and descends to earth to offer good fortune.Thus,couples swear their mutual love under the full moon and separated lovers p

On the mo

42、on,Wu Gang was required to chop down a cassia tree before he was able to come back home on Earth.It proved an impossible mission,as the cut in the tree heals completely the same day.So,Wu Gang is still chopping away on the Moon.Every moon festival,when the moon becomes the fullest and brightest,peop

43、le can see Wu Gang cutting the Cassia tree.It is said that Wu Gang made a delicious wine with the Cassia blossom.Many Chinese drink cassia blossom wine on Moon Festival.And Chinese poets, ancient or modern,tend to compose poetry based on his story as well as the legend of his cassia wine. 49、aten in Mid-Autumn Festival. They are special sweet cakes made in the shape of the moon. The main ingredients of moon-cake are flour and many kinds of sweet paste. The shape of moon-cake is mostly circularity. Particularly, there is one saltyduck-yolk in the paste. When you bite the moon cake, you c

50、an see a similar yellow moon in the cake. That makes the Mid-Autumn Festival more romantic and sweetish in full-moon day.
