READINGMATERIALTEXTConventionalMillingVSClimbMillingTherearetwomethodsofmilling,i.e.conventionalorupmillingandclimbordownmilling.Inconventionalmilling,thecutterrotatesagainstthedirectionoffeed.Thismethodhaslongbeenregardedastheonlypracticalwaytousemillingcutters.Notlongago,climbmillingwasrecognizedasanacceptablemethodofoperation.

Inclimbmilling,thecutterrotatesinthedirectionoffeed.Theadvantagesofclimbmillingareasfollows:(1)?Feedcanfrequentlybedoubledoverconventionalmilling.(2)?Metalscanberemovedfastwithoutvibration.(3)?Finishcanbeconsiderablyimproved.(4)
