Abstract:ThispaperstudiestheenvironmentalchangesandtheeffectsonthevegetationcommunityandsoilmoisturestatusintheBanishanareasincetheLatePleistocene.Byusinggeomorphological,vegetationandsoilanalyses,combinedwithfossilandcarbonisotopeanalyses,thechangesintheenvironmentoftheregionovertimeandtheinterrelationshipsamongvegetation,soilmoistureandclimatefactorswerecomprehensivelyanalyzed.ThestudyshowsthatvegetationandsoilmoistureareinterrelatedintheLatePleistoceneevolutionprocessoftheBanishanarea,andthereisasignificantcorrelationbetweenthevegetationcommunityandtheenvironmentalconditions.Inaddition,climatechangeisalsooneofthemaindrivingforcesofenvironmentalevolutionintheregion.TheresearchofthispaperisofgreatsignificanceforfurtherexploringtheevolutionarylawandcountermeasuresoftheecologicalenvironmentintheBanishanarea.

ThevegetationcommunityintheBanishanareaduringtheLatePleistocenewasprimarilydominatedbyalpinemeadows,scrub,andforests.Thevegetationtypevariedwiththechangesinenvironmentalconditions;forexample,alpinemeadowsoccurredinareaswithlowertemperaturesandhigherprecipitation,whereasforestswerepresentinregionswithlowertemperaturesandhighsoilmoisturecontent.Thevegetationcommunityinthisregionwasalsoinfluencedbythepresenceofherbivoressuchasmuskdeer,whichprimarilyfedonshrubsandtrees.
