Moreover,oncezebramusselsarecarriedtoanewhabitat,theycandominateit.Theyareahardyspeciesthatdoeswellunderavarietyofconditions,andtheyhaveahighrateofreproduction.Mostimportant,however,zebramusselsoftenhavenopredatorsintheirnewhabitats,andspecieswithoutnaturalpredatorsarelikelytodominatetheirhabitats.
