PowerPurchaseAgreements(CPPAs).Thesedirectcontractsbetweenaproducerandaconsumer

secureasupplyofhigh-qualitygreenenergyforthelong-termatafirmprice.

Everyquarter,CapgeminiInventpublishesitsEuropeanCPPABarometer,acomprehensivereport

onthelatestdealsandtrends,bringingmoretransparencytothisdynamicmarketcomposedof

over-the-countercontracts.

ThissecondeditionoftheBarometercoversQ12023,duringwhichperiodEuropeanenergy

marketsweremarkedbyageneraldecreaseinprices.Moreover,EUMemberStatesintroduced

temporaryprofitcapsforenergygeneration,sometimeswithhighdiscrepanciesacrosscountries.

Despitethis,theCPPAmarkethasneverbeensoactive.Inalmostallthestudiedcountriesinthis

report,65dealsweresigned(versusahundredfor2022year),record-levelvolumeswere

announced(+19%versustotalvolumecumulatedbytheendof2022),andenergy-intensive

offtakersfinalizedmultipleagreementsinvariousgeographies.
