Asecondstudyprovidescluesaboutwhoismoreeasilyinfluencedbythemarketingstrategies.Thestudyfoundthatsoftdrinkcompanies,likeCoca-ColaandPepsiCo,havemulti-billiondollaradvertisingandmarketingbudgetsaimedto“create,maintainandincreaseconsumerdemandaroundbenefitsrelatedtohappiness,socialstatusetc.”.Thesecampaignsare“increasinglybeingdirectedatdisadvantagedgroups”,includingchildrenandadolescentsgenerally,andpeoplelivingindisadvantagedneighborhoods.
