Thissectiondescribesthedesign,structure,andnamingconventionoftheelectricalcontrolswiringdiagrams.

Cell:TheCellleveldrawingshallincludethecell’scomponents(i.e.,PowerDistributionPanel,MasterControlPanel,GateBoxes,StationBoxes)andtheirinterconnection.Acellmaycontroloneormoretools.ReferenceEP-1(EngineeringProcessStandard) lldesignationsandnaming.

Tool:TheToolleveldrawingshallshowthecontrolofthecomponentsassociatedwiththetool.

ZoneLevelWDDrawingPackage

ThehighestdrawingpackagelevelisaZoneLevelWD,whichshallshowthegloballayoutofazoneincludingthegating,perimeterguarding,andfencingrelativetothetools.Thepackageshallshowtheutilityconnections(i.e.,electrical,airandwaterifapplicable)intothezone.

TheZoneWDshallcontainareferencesheetthatliststhecontrolWDpackagesandadescriptionoftheirassociatedareaofcontrolwithinthezone.TheZonelevelpackageshallalsoshowthecommunicationnetworkbetweenthemultiplecellmainprocessorpanels.

Devicesthatarepurchasedonaperzonebasis(i.e.,maintenanceworkstations,enablingpendants,marquees)shallalsobeincludedintheZoneWDpackage.

Ifthezoneonlycontainsonecell,then,theZoneLevelWDisnotrequired.TheCellLevelWDshallshowallthenecessaryinformation.

CellLevelWDDrawingPackage

ThemiddleleveldrawingpackageistheCellLevelWD,whichshowsthecell’smainpanelcontrol(PLCpanel),layoutanditsinterconnectionstothezoneandtools.TheCellLevelWDdrawingshallshowit’smulti-conductorcables,hardwiredcircuits,interlocks,andassociatednetworkcommunications.TheCellLevelWDshallalsoshowit’sntutilitydrops(i.e.,air,water,electricalbusfeeds).

Eachelectricalcontrolpanel(i.e.,MCP,PDP,OperatorRunStand)typicallyisaseparatedrawingpackagefromtheCellleveldrawingpackage.Thisistofacilitatetheuseofthestandardpanels(ECS’s).

Robotsalsohavetheirowndrawingpackagefortheirspecificprocessapplication(i.e,welding,sealing,hemming).

ToolLevelWDDrawingPackage

A“tool”referstowhereanindividualoperationisperformed(e.g.,wheretwosub-assemblypartsarelocatedonafixture,clampedandweldedtogether)oritmaybeanactualtoolontheendofarobotarmthatperformswelding,mechanicalhandlingoradhesiveapply.

ThelowestleveldrawingpackageistheToolLevelWD,whichshowsthecontrolsofallofthedevices(e.g.,sensors,valves,cords)associatedwiththattool.ThispackageshallshowI/Odeviceconnections,p aticandhydraulicconnections,andanyapplication-specificinformation(e.g.,weldguncontrollerandweldgunconnections).

Thetoollevelpackageshallalsoincludethetoolsequence-of-operation,theinterconnectiontotheprocessormainpanel,andallnecessaryinformationforatooltobepipedandwiredwithouttherequireduseofotherWDdrawingpackages.

DrawingSectionFormat

Everydrawingpackageisdividedintoletteredsectionsthatcorrespondtospecificfunctions.(RefertoFigure6-2andTable6-1,respectively.)Thisorganizationalstructurepermitsquickaccesstospecificareasofapackageandeasestherevisionprocessbyallowingnewsheetstobeincorporatedwithoutaffectingothersheets.
