AbstractGuangzhou,aninternationalmetropolis,isaculturalandtouristcitywithalonghistory,attractingavarietyofforeigntourists.ButsomeerrorsandproblemsstillexistintheC-EtranslationofpublicsignsinGuangzhouscenicspotsandneedcorrectionandimprovement.ThisthesisanalyzessomeexamplesoftheC-EtranslationofpublicsignsinGuangzhouscenicspotsundertheguidanceofSkoposTheoryandappreciatessomeexcellentexamplestodrawontheirexperience.Meanwhile,somesuggestionsareputforwardfromdifferentaspects.Keywords:SkoposTheory,publicsignsinscenicspots,theC-Etranslation摘要廣州是一個(gè)開放的國(guó)際化大都市,歷史文化底蘊(yùn)深厚,旅游資源豐富,吸引了大批外國(guó)游客前來旅游,但廣州旅游景點(diǎn)內(nèi)的公示語翻譯仍然存在一些問題,需要修正。本文在德國(guó)功能學(xué)派的目的論的指導(dǎo)下,對(duì)目前收集到的廣州市旅游景區(qū)公示語翻譯的錯(cuò)誤例子進(jìn)行分析并提出修改建議,同時(shí)對(duì)翻譯質(zhì)量佳的例子進(jìn)行欣賞,借鑒其經(jīng)驗(yàn),并提出一些建議。關(guān)鍵詞:目的論,景區(qū)公示語,漢英翻譯 27PAGE28ChapterOneIntroduction1.1ThesignificanceandpurposeofthisthesisFordecades,China'stourismindustrydevelopsrapidlyandhasbeenaboomingindustry,attractingavarietyofforeignvisitorstoChina.Thepublicsignsinscenicspots,besidesintroducingscenicspotsandspreadingculture,serveasabridgetoconveyinformationaccurately,includingcatering,accommodation,tourismandentertainmenttotouristswhospeakEnglishasamothertongueorasecondlanguage.AndtheC-Etranslationqualityofthepublicsignsalsodirectlyaffectsthetravelexperienceofforeigntourists,aswellasthefirstimpressionofscenicspots.Therefore,consideringthetranslationpurposeoftouristpublicsigns,itisnecessarytoanalyzetheC-Etranslationqualityofpublicsignsinscenicspots.AsacollegestudentinGuangzhou,theauthoroncevisitedsomescenicspotsinGuangzhouandfoundthatsomeproblemsoftheC-Etranslationofpublicsignsstillexistedthere,sotheauthorwillcollectsomeexamplesoftheC-EtranslationofpublicsignsinGuangzhouscenicspots,analyzesomeerrorsandproblemofthemundertheguidanceofSkoposTheoryandputforwardsomesuggestionfromdifferentaspects.1.2ThecontentofthisthesisThisthesisisdividedintosixchapters.Thefirstchapterisabriefintroductionaboutthesignificanceandpurposeofthisthesis,aswellasthecontentofthisthesis.Thesecondchapterisliteraturereview.ThischapterwillbrieflysummarizetheresearchachievementsintheC-Etranslationofpublicsignsobtainedbyscholarsdomesticallyandoverseasandpointoutthecurrentproblemsexistinginthisfield.ThethirdchapterisanintroductionoftheconceptofSkoposTheory,thethreerulesofitandtherelationshipamongthem.Thefourthchapterwillintroducethedefinition,functions,typesandlinguisticfeaturesofpublicsigns.ThefifthchapterwillanalyzesomecasesoftheC-EtranslationofpublicsignsinGuangzhouscenicspotsfromtheperspectiveofSkoposTheory,includingtheerrors,theproblemsandthesuggestedversions.Meanwhile,someexcellentcasesoftheC-EtranslationofpublicsignsinGuangzhouscenicspotswillalsobeappreciatedinthischapter,drawingontheirmethodsandexperience.ThesixthchapterwillputforwardsomesuggestionsfromdifferentaspectsonthecurrenterrorsandproblemsontheC-EtranslationofpublicsignsinGuangzhouscenicspots.Thelastpartistheconclusionandsomelimitationsofthisthesis.ChapterTwoLiteratureReviewManyforeignscholarsandtranslatorshavealreadyobtainedsomeresearchachievementsonpublicsignsintheircountries,buttheyseldomfocusedonbilingualpublicsigns,especiallytheC-Etranslationofpublicsigns.Inthepastfewdecades,manydomesticscholarshavealsostudiedtheC-Etranslationofpublicsigns,andsomeachievementshavebeenobtainedinthisfield.In2004,Pro.LvHefaandShanLipingcompliedthefirstdictionaryabouttheC-Etranslationofpublicsigns,AChinese-EnglishDictionaryonSigns,whichprovidedareferenceforthestudyinthisfield.In2011,Pro.LvHefa,JiangLu,WangTongjunandotherscholarspublishedsomebooksontranslationofpublicsigns,AnAnalysisonProblemC-ESignsandDiscussiononC-ESignsRegulationsDevelopmentandTranslationofPublicSigns.Meanwhile,awiderangeofthesishasdiscussedtheC-Etranslationofpublicsignsintermsofmanyperspectives,includingpublicsignsinscenicspots.LocalgovernmentsalsohavepublishedsomeEnglishtranslationstandardsforpublicsigns.InJanuary,2019,GuangdongProvincialBureauofQualityandTechnicalSupervisionandForeignAffairsOfficeofGuangzhouMunicipalGovernmentjointlyissuedEnglishTranslationStandardsforPublicSignsinGuangzhou(2018)forreference.AndnumerousconferencesandforumsontheC-Etranslationofpublicsignswereheldacrossthecountryinthepastfewyears.Pro.YangxiaheldtheviewthatwiththeaccelerationofChina'surbanizationprocessandtheincreasingfrequencyofinternationalexchanges,theC-Etranslationofpublicsigns,asanimagewindowforexternalpublicityandcommunication,hasreceivedincreasingattentionfromallwalksoflife.AlthoughdomesticscholarsareinfullswingontheC-Etranslationofpublicsigns,duetovariousreasons,therearestillsomeproblemsonit.[[]楊霞.國(guó)內(nèi)公示語英譯研究十年綜述[J].海外英語,2019(06):57-58.][]楊霞.國(guó)內(nèi)公示語英譯研究十年綜述[J].海外英語,2019(06):57-58.However,therearenotsomuchstudyrelatedtopublicsignsinGuangzhouscenicspots.Whensearchinginthewiththekeywordsof“theC-EtranslationofpublicsignsinGuangzhouscenicspots”,thereareabout10relatedarticles.WiththeaccelerationofinternationalizationinGuangzhou,mostpublicsignsinGuangzhouscenicspotsarebilingualtranslation,inordertofacilitateforeignvisitors.YetsomeerrorsandproblemsstillexistinthesebilingualtranslationsofpublicsignsinGuangzhouscenicspotsandneedcorrectionandimprovement.Itwillaffecttheimageandexternalserviceofthiscity,anditshouldbetakenseriously.ChapterThreeTheoreticalFrameworkWeallknowthatdetailedanalysisrequirestheoricalframeworktosupport.Inthischapter,theconceptofSkopostheory,threerulesofitandtherelationshipamongthemwillbeintroduced.3.1TheconceptofSkopostheorySkopostheoryOrigintimeOriginatedin1970sPresenterHansVermeer,aGermanlinguistandtranslatorscholarCore“Skopos”,aGreekword,whichmeans“purpose”or“aim”MainideaThepurpose(skopos)oftranslationdeterminesthetranslationprocessHansVermeerheldthefollowingtwoviews.Thefirstonewasthattheessenceoftranslationisapurposefulhumanactivitybasedontheoriginaltext.Thesecondo
