OperativeThelackofknowledgeoftheoperativestaffabouttheoperatinginstructionhandbooksuppliedbySERVOVALVEinthelanguagespecifiedintheorder,cannotbeascribedtoSERVOVALVE.1General1.1Thismanualgivesinstructionsforstandardpacking,carriage,handling,storage,assembling,disassembling,starting-upandmaintenanceoftheactuatorinobject.WorkinginterruptionsanddownDamagesduetoaprolongedworkinginterruptionand/ordowntime,duringwhichtheactuatorwasnotinsuchconditionstoassureaperfectpreservation,willbethecustomer’saccount.FordifferentconditionsSERVOVALVEmustbeinformbeforeorderandsupply.ActuatorAnyactuatormodificationhastobecarriedoutinSERVOVALVEworkshop.Anydamageduetoanymodificationcarriedoutbythecustomerorbythirdparties,willbeonthecustomer’s1.2OperativeThelackofknowledgeoftheoperativestaffabouttheoperatinginstructionhandbooksuppliedbySERVOVALVEinthelanguagespecifiedintheorder,cannotbeascribedtoSERVOVALVE.1General1.1Thismanualgivesinstructionsforstandardpacking,carriage,handling,storage,assembling,disassembling,starting-upandmaintenanceoftheactuatorinobject.WorkinginterruptionsanddownDamagesduetoaprolongedworkinginterruptionand/ordowntime,duringwhichtheactuatorwasnotinsuchconditionstoassureaperfectpreservation,willbethecustomer’saccount.FordifferentconditionsSERVOVALVEmustbeinformbeforeorderandsupply.ActuatorAnyactuatormodificationhastobecarriedoutinSERVOVALVEworkshop.Anydamageduetoanymodificationcarriedoutbythecustomerorbythirdparties,willbeonthecustomer’s1.2ActuatorSERVOVALVEwarrantsthattheactuatorisincompliancewiththedocumentsandthespecificationsindicatedintheCustomerpurchaseorder.Warrantydeclinesincasetheactuatoristamperedbythird-partieswithoutSERVOVALVEauthorization.Moreover,SERVOVALVEwarrantsthatmaterialsandequipmentsuppliedtogetherwiththeactuatorarenewandthattheproductdevelopedbySERVOVALVEissuitabletoitsfinalscopesandpurposes.Herebelow,generalstandardsregardingactuatorpacking,handling,carriage,storage,assemblinganddisassembling,start-up,maintenanceandrepairarereported.WARNING:thelackofrespectoftheabovementionedstandardswillinvalidSERVOVALVEEverySERVOVALVEproductiswarrantedforadefinedtermstartingfromdeliverydatefromourworkshop.Withtheonlyexclusionofthewearingcomponents,theactuatorsarewarrantedfor5yearsfromstartup,providingthegasketswillbereplacedafter5yearsfromdeliveryatthelatest.WerecommendtoaskaServovalveserviceengineerforsupervisionatthestart-up(availableatA.NI.MAtablecostsvalidintheperiodofthestartup).1.3Beforedelivery,everyactuatorispackedontopallets,cagesorcases,inordertopreventitfromdeteriorationduringshippingandstorage.EnvironmentalworkingThewarrantyisvalidforenvironmentalconditionsspecifiedontothedata-plateandmaximumhumidity60%.Particularconditionsashighsalinity,presenceofcorrosiveelements,highhumidity,tropicalorarctictemperatures,seismicrisks,highvibrationsmustbespecifiedbytheCustomerwhenheplaceshispurchaseorder.Exceptforspecificrequestsduringorderissue,standardSERVOVALVEpackagesaresuitablefortransportonvehicleswithchestprotectedfromatmosphericagents.1.4Brieftimestorage(lessthanthreemonthsfromtheshippingexourworkshop)Besurethatactuatorsarestoredinaclosedanddryplace,ontopalletsandprotectedfromdustandhumidity.Installation/workingParticularlytroubledinstallationandparticularlyseveredutyhavetobespecifiedduringorderissueinordertotakeintoaccountthenecessarytechnicalmeasures.LongtimeActuatorshavetobestoredincasesorcageswithsuitablewaterproofcoating.Damagesduetocorrosion,fouling,pollution,oxidation,dust,wearorprogressivedeterioration,causedbyenvironmentalworkingconditionsorcausedbyseveredutyandinstallationconditionsforwhichthecustomerdidnotspecifytheadaptabilitylimits,willbeonthecustomer’saccount.Outdoorstorageoftheactuatorisnotforeseen,unlessitisspecifiedinthepurchaseorder.EquipmentGuaranteeconditionsofanequipmentinstalledontoaSERVOVALVEactuatorrefertotheonesestablishedbytheequipmentsupplier.Repairs/replacementsandguaranteeIfanyparthastoberepaired/replacedbecauseofbadfunctionalityordamageduetoSERVOVALVEmanufacture,thereplacement/repairhastobecarriedoutexourworkshop.Theguaranteeextensionwillbeequalto12monthsstartingfromtherepair/replacementdateanditwillcoveronlytherepaired/replacedpart.Incaseofuseofnon-originalsparepartsbythecustomer,SERVOVALVEdeclinesallresponsibilitiesforindemnityon-Checktheintegrityandfunctionalityofthelifting1.5Handlinghastobecarriedoutbymeansoffixedandmovingdevicesthataresuitablefortheactuatorweight.Besides,handlinghastobecarriedout-Checktheintegrityandfunctionalityofthelifting1.5Handlinghastobecarriedoutbymeansoffixedandmovingdevicesthataresuitablefortheactuatorweight.Besides,handlinghastobecarriedoutbyqualified1.6Inordernotdodamagetheactuatorduringdelivery,proceedasfollows:-Putthepackagesinpositionthatcouldnotbemovedorknockedbychance.AvoidanycontactwithchemicallyaggressivefluidsorTheexternalsurfacesnotmachinedarepainted;takeextremecarenottodamageitduringcarriage.Donotputthepackingoneuponanotherifnotindicated.Respecttheindicationswrittenonthepackage(fragile,high,low…).Packingmovementhastobemadebyqualifiedpersonnelfollowingthesecuritystandardinforce.-Actuatorswhoseweightismorethan25kgareprovidedwitheyebolts,hooksorliftingpointsforthehandlingwhenareusedcranesorothermechanicalliftingsystems.Liftingpointsaresizedforhandlingonlytheactuator.Itisforbiddentousetheactuatorliftingdevicesinordertohandletheassemblyvalve+actuatorortohandleotherequipmentlinkedtoit.WARNING:theactuatormustbehandledandliftedwiththetwooutsideliftingdeviceseesketch1.7Onlyqualifiedpersonnelcancoupletheactuatortothevalve.Whencoupling,followthesecuritystandardinforceforthiskindofoperationbothforpersonnelandmachinery.Indetail,followeveryparticularprescriptionindicatedinthisinstructionhandbook.ActuatorcouplingtothevalveisnotunderSERVOVALVEresponsibilityand,thereforeitisnotcoveredbySERVOVALVEWRONG-Beforeassembling,checktheactuatorpreservationstatebecausecorrosion,eventualknocksoreventsthatreducethesafetyorthefunctionalityperformanceduringpacking,carriageandstorageoftheproduct,couldhappen.Qualifiedpersonnelmustassemblethemechanical,pneumatic,hydraulicandelectricalpartsinastateoftheartRespecteverysafetystandardinforcewhenconnectingtoenergysources(electrical,pneumatic,hydraulic…).RIGHT1.8StartingBeforetheactuatorstartsoperating,checkitscorrectCheckiftheelectricalconnectionsarecorrect,checkifthevoltagesupplyiscorrect(asrequiredbythesuppliedequipment)andcheckiftheactuatorisgroundedthroughthespecificgivenpoint.Checkifthehydraulicconnectionsandthemediumsupplypressurearecorrect.Checkifthesafetydevicesforpressureparts,whereforeseen,areworkingproperly.Checkifthecouplingactuator-valveisCheckiftheactuatormovementisCheckifthemechanicalmovingpartsarelubricated(ifitisrequired).-Handlinghastobecarriedoutwithbypersonnelwithoutcausinganydamagetothepackingordertoguaranteeanadequateprotectionofthe-Handlinghastobecarriedoutinsuchconditionstoavoiddamagetheequipmentinsidethepackage,respectingtheindicationsonthepackagesurface.Duringhandlingtakecarenottodamageunmachinedsurfacesandnottodamagethepaint.Itisnecessarytomakefewtestingmaneuverschecking--PartsunderpressuredonothaveMechanicalpartsareabletomovewithouthuntingorThedriveandregulatingequipmentworkinacorrectTakealwayscare,whenhandling,thattheactuatordoesnotfalldownanddoesnotcausedamagesifitishandledoverstaffareasorotherworkshopareasAlwaysrespectthesafetystandardsin-BeforemakingeveryhandlingoperationitisnecessaryQualifiedpersonnelmustknowthetechnicalcharacteristicoftheliftingdeviceused.PersonnelmustnothavebodyorpartofitundertheliftedBeforemakinganylifting,preparethesupportsurface.Donotusetheliftingdevicesattheirmaximumrangeoraboveit.1.9Common-Donotexceedactuator’sfluidmaximumpressuregivenonthedata-plate.Donotexceedactuator’smaximumtemperaturegivenonthedata-plate.2.4-2.4.1Operating-Actuatormustbejoined1.9Common-Donotexceedactuator’sfluidmaximumpressuregivenonthedata-plate.Donotexceedactuator’smaximumtemperaturegivenonthedata-plate.2.4-2.4.1Operating-Actuatormustbejoinedtothevalvetobeactuatedonlybymeansofthesuitablecouplingdevices.Thesedevicesshallprotecttheactuatorfromexceedingthemax.allowabletemperaturegivenonthedataplateEventualadditionallinks/jointsareforbidden.Hotsurfacesintheplantshallbeprotectedbysuitablemeansforpreventingpotentialignitionduetofluidleakage(adoptedfluidfeaturesshallbesuitablefortheoperatingconditionsspecifiedduringquotationphase).Itisforbiddentounscrewnutboltsofthepressurevesselineverysituationbutinmaintenance,wheretheoperatinginstructionhandbookhastobefollowedMaintenanceoperationsmustbecarriedoutbyqualifiedpersonnel.Thispersonnelmustbeperfectlyacknowledgedaboutoperativetechniquesandaboutsafetystandardsinforce,therespectofwhoseisnecessaryforitssafetyandthesafetyofotherpeople.-WARNING:beforedisassemblingtheactuatorfromthevalve,maintenancepersonnelmustassureitselfthatthevalveisdepressurizedandthateveryconnectiontoenergyfeedsiscut-off.-Forsafetyreasons,maintenancepersonnelmustalwayswearduringmaintenance:-Itisforbiddentounscrewthespringcartridgesafetyboltsineverysituationbutinmaintenance,whereoperatinginstructionhandbookhastobefollowedItisforbiddentoperformweldingormodificationsontothepressurevessel.Actuatorisnotsuitableforinstallationsinenvironmentalconditionsdifferenttothosespecifiedinthepurchaseorder.Itisforbiddentohandletheassemblyvalve+actuatorwiththeactuatorliftingdevices.Beforestart-up,checkifanypartoftheactuatorhasbeendamaged.Beforestart-up,checkiftheactuatorhasbeengroundedthroughthespecificgivenpoint.ActuatorisdesignedtoresisttonostressesbuttothoseforeseenforactuatingthevalvetowhichitisAvoidworkingconditionwithvibrationswithtoohighintensityandamplitude.Avoidtoputhands/fingersonactuatormovingpartsduringworkingconditionsPerformmaintenanceforeseenbythe--Noparticularmaintenanceisrequiredfortheactuator.Periodicalinspectionscanbedoneduringtheworkinglife,theinspectionfrequencyisduetoenvironmentalanddutyconditionsintheplant.Dynamicsealsandmechanicalpartsinmovementhaveanaveragelifeofyearsinstandardworkingconditions.-Forthesepartsitisadvisedayearlycheckanditisadvisedtoforeseeaneventualreplacementofthesealsaftertwoworkingyears.--Partsnotsubjectedtoweararesizedforalongworkingtimeeveninheavyorseveredutyconditions.-Foreveryotherrestriction/caution,refertotheoperatinginstruction2.5Spare2.5.12GeneralRackandpinionactuatorsaredesignedforthetransmissionofhightorquesontheoutputshaft.Theyareparticularlysuitedforoperatingbutterflyvalvesorballvalveswithaworkingangularmovementof90°(+/-4°).Thisactuatorconsistsofarackandpinionkinematismthattransformsthelinearthrustofasingle-actingpistoninatorqueontheoutputshaft.Theactuatorcanbeequippedwithhydraulicandelectriclocalorremotecontrol.Thesuggestedsparepartsfortwoyearsarepointedouttopart3.4.ToorderactuatorsparepartsorequipmentsuppliedbySERVOVALVE,specifytheactuatorserialnumberindicatedontotheactuatordata-plate.Onlyiftheactuatorserialnumberisnotavailableforanyreason,thecustomerhastospecifyasmostinformationaspossible,like:SERVOVALVE’spurchaserPurchaserOrderReferencetoaSERVOVALVESERVOVALVEjob2.1Thepressurizedmediumsuppliedinsidethecylinderpushesthepistonwhichmovestherackandpinionmechanism,atthesametimeproducedthespringscompression.Whenthepowersupplyfails,theextendingspringforceprovidesatthenecessarytorquefortakingbackthevalveshaftintheoriginalposition.
