Neuroradiology:AdvancingImagingTechniquesforNeurologicalDisorders

Introduction:

Neuroradiologyisasubspecialtyofradiologythatfocusesonthediagnosisandtreatmentofdiseasesaffectingthecentralnervoussystem(CNS)anditssupportingstructures.Itutilizesvariousimagingtechniquestovisualizeandstudythebrain,spinalcord,andotherneuralstructures.Thisarticleaimstoprovideanoverviewoftheroleofneuroradiologyindiagnosingandmanagingneurologicaldisorders,highlightingrecentadvancesinimagingtechniques.

DiagnosticImagingModalities:

Neuroradiologyemploysarangeofimagingmodalitiestoenableaccuratediagnosisandtreatmentplanning.TheseincludeMagneticResonanceImaging(MRI),ComputedTomography(CT),PositronEmissionTomography(PET),andSingle-PhotonEmissionComputedTomography(SPECT).EachmodalityoffersuniqueadvantagesforvisualizingdifferentaspectsoftheCNS,allowingradiologiststoassessbrainstructure,function,andbloodflowinvariouspathologicalconditions.

PETandSPECTinNeuroradiology:
