mostnotableregret.Participantswereaskedwhattheregretwas,
whenithappened,whetheritwasaresultofsomethingtheydidor
didn'tdo,andwhetheritwassomethingthatcouldstillbefixed.
Themostcommonlymentionedregretinvolvedromance(浪漫的
事)(18%)----lostlovesorunfulfilledrelationships.Family
regretscameinsecond(16%),whitpeoplestillfeelingbadlyabout
beingunkindtotheirbrothersorsistersinchildhood.Other
frequentlyreportedregretsinvolvedcareer(13%),education(12%),
money(10%)andparenting(9%)o
RoseandMorrison'sstudy,whichistobepublishedinsocial
psychologicalandpersonalityscience,issignificantinthatit
surveyedawiderangeoftheAmericanpublic,includingpeopleof
allagesandsocio-economicandeducationalbackgrounds.Previous
studiesonregrethavefocusedlargelyoncollegestudents,who
predictablytendtohaveeducation-focusedregrets,likewishing
theyhadstudiedharderoradifferentmajor.Thenewsurveyshows
