ShanghaiElectricPowerGenerationEquipmentCo.Ltd.TURBINEGOVERNINGSYSTEM(GRE)ChapterSheet2ofDocumentParticularSteadyHouseLoadThisoccurswhenthegeneratorcircuitbreakerisclosedbutthehighvoltagecircuitbreakersareopen.Theturbinegeneratorisnotsynchronizedtothegrid,butissupplyingstationauxiliaryloads.Followingaloadrejectiontohouseloadthedroopissettotheunsynchronizedvalueandthespeedsetpointissettojustabovenominal.TheDocumentParticularSteadyHouseLoadThisoccurswhenthegeneratorcircuitbreakerisclosedbutthehighvoltagecircuitbreakersareopen.Theturbinegeneratorisnotsynchronizedtothegrid,butissupplyingstationauxiliaryloads.Followingaloadrejectiontohouseloadthedroopissettotheunsynchronizedvalueandthespeedsetpointissettojustabovenominal.Thespeedwillthenbecontrolledjustbelowthesetpointbyanamountdependingonthedroopsetting.Thesetpointvalueshouldthereforebeselectedasappropriatefortheunsynchronizeddrooptogiveasettledspeedclosetonominal.Date ShanghaiElectricPowerGenerationEquipmentCo.Ltd.TURBINEGOVERNINGSYSTEM(GRE)ChapterSheet3ofDocumentParticularTransientThiswillresultfromanytripsignal(overspeed,lowlubricationoilpressure,electricalorhand)andcausesallthemainsteamstopvalvestobeclosed.AturbinetripcanbeinitiatedbytheSTCinAS620Tviatheturbineprotectionsystem(GSE).DuringaDocumentParticularTransientThiswillresultfromanytripsignal(overspeed,lowlubricationoilpressure,electricalorhand)andcausesallthemainsteamstopvalvestobeclosed.AturbinetripcanbeinitiatedbytheSTCinAS620Tviatheturbineprotectionsystem(GSE).Duringaturbinetripthemainsteamstopvalvescloseattheirfastestrateandareheldcloseduntilthehydraulicprotectioncircuitsarereset.Aloadrejectionoccurswhenacircuitbreakeropensthusdisconnectingloadfromtheturbinegenerator.Theloadrejectionmaybefullorpartial,dependingontheloadwhichremainsconnectedtothegeneratoraftertheincident.DuringaloadrejectiontheSTCinAS620Twilldetectaturbineaccelerationaswellasanincreaseinspeed.Thevaluesofspeedriseandaccelerationdependonthesizeoftheloadrejection.VariationofPowerThepowercanbefedredundantlyfromtwoseparatenetwork,LMCandLNE.Lossofeitheroneofthesesuppliescausesnolossoffacilities.ThecomponentsofOM650,ES680systemsareconnectedtoauninterrupted230Vpowersupply.TheAS620systemissuppliedwith24VDC.ShouldAS620systemhavealreadylostonesupplyandthesecondthenfails,itwillgointoprotectionandturbinewillbetripped.FailureofonesteamturbineAsinglefailureofonehardwarecomponentofthesteamturbinecontrollerinthecabinetwillinitiateachangeovertotheredundantsystem.Duringloadrun-upthesubgroupcontrol(SGC)ofthesteamturbinestopstheloadset-point.Aturbinetripwillnotbeinitiated.NoconsequencesofplantDate FailureofbothsteamturbineDoublefailuresofhardwarecomponentswillnotautomaticallyinitiateaAllcontrolvalveswillbeclosedslowly.Reactorpowerwillbedecreasedaccordinglydowntominimumreactorpower.Pressurecontrolwillbetakenoverbybypass5.3.6Malfunctionofsteamturbinecontrollercausingover-orunder-Thesemalfunctionswillnotinitiateaturbinetrip.Prolongedtimeofoperationisnotrecommended.Aturbinetripwillonlybeinitiatedeitherbytheturbineprotectionsystemforhigherfrequency(110%ofnominalfrequency)orbythegeneratorprotectionsystemduringloadoperationforlowerfrequency(95%ofnominalfrequency).Duringspeedcontrolifspeeddropsbelow95%ofnominalspeedwhilewithinacriticalspeedrange,thespeedisreduceddowntoturningspeed.Whenoutsidethecriticalspeedrangeagain,speedcanthenbeincreasedagain.MalfunctionoftheThebinaryhardwaresignalsfromthesynchronizerareredundantlyavailable.Incomingpulsesarereleasedonlyaboveacertainspeedlimit.Thespeedcanonlybealteredwithintherangeofthislimitandanupperspeedlimit,whichensuresthatthesteamturbinewillnotbeoperatedinanon-permissiblespeedrange.Thus,amalfunctionorfailureofthesynchronizermayleadtoDate ShanghaiElectricPowerGenerationEquipmentCo.Ltd.TURBINEGOVERNINGSYSTEM(GRE)ChapterSheet7ofDocumentStart-upandNormalTheturbinecanonlybestartediftheSTCisinserviceandtheturbineprotectionsystemhasbeenreset.Aseriesofpre-startchecksensuresauxiliaryplantisinasatisfactoryconditionforstart-up.Thesteamturbineisstartedupusingthespeedcontroller.Thesteamturbinespeedtracksthespeedset-pointwiththespeedset-pointtransientandthemaximumpossibleDocumentStart-upandNormalTheturbinecanonlybestartediftheSTCisinserviceandtheturbineprotectionsystemhasbeenreset.Aseriesofpre-startchecksensuresauxiliaryplantisinasatisfactoryconditionforstart-up.Thesteamturbineisstartedupusingthespeedcontroller.Thesteamturbinespeedtracksthespeedset-pointwiththespeedset-pointtransientandthemaximumpossiblerateofchangefromthetemperaturestressinfluence.Thespeedcontrollerstartsupfromturningspeedofthesteamturbine.Onstart-up,turbinespeedthroughthecriticalspeedrangesismonitoredwiththeaidofatransientmonitoringfunction.Thisservestoprotecttheturbinebladesandthelineofshaftingfromresonancevibrations.Forsynchronizationatfirstaspeedset-pointissetthatcausesaslightover-frequency.Thisservestopreventmotoringofthegenerator,i.e.reversepowerflowwhenconnectedtothepowergrid.Withtheaidofthesynchronizingunitthespeedset-pointcanbealteredwithinasmallslightspeedrange.Aftersynchronizationthespeedset-pointisratedspeed.Aftersynchronizationtheturbinegeneratorsetisloadedwiththeloadcontrollerfromratedspeedwhiletakingthepermissibleloadingtransientsintoconsideration.Themaximumpermittedtransientissetinaccordancewiththeloadcapabilitiesofthereactorandtheelectricalgridforloadingandunloadingoftheturbinegeneratorset.Toprotectthesteamturbinethesetransientswillbelimitedtemperaturemarginsofthesteamturbine.Theloadautomaticallytoreactorminimumload.Thereafter,set-pointshouldbegivenbytheoperator.bypermissibleset-pointissetahigherloadDate ShanghaiElectricPowerGenerationEquipmentCo.Ltd.TURBINEGOVERNINGSYSTEM(GRE)ChapterSheet9ofDocumentOtherThevalveexercisingisprovidedtoallowallthesteamvalvesunderthecontroloftheSTCtobestrokedopenandclosedwiththeturbineoffload.ValveopeningandclosingiscontrolledfromtheHMI.OverspeedOverspeedtestingmaybeperformedpriortosynchronizinginordertotesttheoperationoftheelectronicoverspeedtripdevices.SeedetailsDocumentOtherThevalveexercisingisprovidedtoallowallthesteamvalvesunderthecontroloftheSTCtobestrokedopenandclosedwiththeturbineoffload.ValveopeningandclosingiscontrolledfromtheHMI.OverspeedOverspeedtestingmaybeperformedpriortosynchronizinginordertotesttheoperationoftheelectronicoverspeedtripdevices.SeedetailsinGSEsystem.AutomaticSynchronizingandBlockHavingruntheturbineuptonominalspeedtheoperatorispermitted pre-synchronizingcheckshavebeenpassed.TheturbinegeneratorissynchronizedtothehighvoltagegridbyclosureofeitherthegeneratorcircuitbreakeroroneoftheH.V.circuitbreakers.Theautomaticsynchronizerwillmatchvoltage,phaseandfrequency,andhavingdonesowillinitiatebreakerclosing.HPMinimumPressureTheHPMinimumPressureControlleractsasalimitcontrollerforHPInletPressureControl.Itsupportsthereactorpressurecontrolduringfault-relatedHPpressuredrops.IftheHPpressurefallsbelowanadjustablelimitvalue,e.g.3barbelowtheoperatingcurve,theturbinecontrolvalveswillthrottletocounteractanyfurtherHPpressurereduction.Inthisway,thepressurewillrecovertonominalasquicklyasAsteamvalverequiresreinstatinginordertobringitbackonDate ShanghaiElectricPowerGenerationEquipmentCo.Ltd.TURBINEGOVERNINGSYSTEM(GRE)ChapterSheet14ofDocumentmeasurement3STPFD3intheeventofDocumentmeasurement3STPFD3intheeventoffailureoftheactualvalueIffailuresaredetectedinallthreechannels,themessageFaultinmainsteampressuremeasurementSTPFDisoutputtotheOMsystem.Speedset-pointNS(ECS:Manualsettingofthespeedset-pointcanbeperformedviatheOMsystemusingthesignalforManualsettingforspeedset-pointVGNS,providedthatthisisnotinhibitedbyanyothersignal.Theset-pointcontroltracksthisvaluewiththegradientcalculatedbythetemperaturemarginsubmoduleWTF:OFBNforUppermarginforUFBNforLowermarginforThedelayedspeedset-pointNSVisappliedtothespeed/loadcontroller.OnissueofthecommandfromtheturbinemastercontrolprogramDTSforSetspeedset-pointtoholdingspeedNSWART,thespeedset-pointissettoHoldingspeedNWARTtowarmuptheturbineandtheset-pointcontrolisthentrackedwiththegradientdefinedbytemperaturemarginsubmoduleWTF.TheSpeedset-pointNSisthenmatchedtotheDelayedspeedset-pointNSVandthestart-upprocessstoppedifthesignalsforFaultinTSE,storedandTurbinespeedoutsidecriticalspeedbandNTASPareactive.Inthismatchedcondition,thesignalforSpeedset-pointmatchedNSABGLisgenerated,allowingactivationanddeactivationofthetemperaturemarginsintemperaturemarginsubmoduleWTF.Forsynchronization,theCommandforsetspeedset-pointtosynchronizingspeedNSYNCisusedtosetaspeedsetpointthatcausesaslightover-frequency,theSpeedset-pointforsynchronizationNSYN.Thisservestopreventmotoringofthegenerator,i.e.reversepowerflowwhenconnectedtothepowergrid.WiththeaidofthesynchronizingunitandtheSynchronizationcommandHIGHERSYHandSynchronizationcommandLOWERSYT,theset-pointcanbealteredwithintherangebetweenSpeedset-pointlowerlimitNSUGandSpeedset-pointupperlimitNSOGwiththeSynchronizinggradientforspeedset-pointNSVGSY.InspeedoperationthesynchronizingunitisDate ShanghaiElectricPowerGenerationEquipmentCo.Ltd.TURBINEGOVERNINGSYSTEM(GRE)ChapterSheet15ofDocumentlimitedupwardsanddownwardsDocumentlimitedupwardsanddownwardsbyspeedlimitvalues.InloadoperationthesynchronizingunitisinterlockedbytheloadswitchAftersynchronization,thesignalforLoadoperationLBisgeneratedinthespeed/loadcontrollersubmoduleNPRandtheset-pointissettoNominalspeedNNOMwhentheLimitvalueforminimumloadPMINisreached.OnLoadrejectionduringloadoperationwithspeedcontrollerLALBNR,thespeedset-pointisalsosettoNNOM.Underthefollowingthreedifferentconditions,thespeedset-pointistrackedtotheactualvalueforspeedforthedeceleratingdownturbineminusanadjustabledeltaK1.Thisensuressafeandreliableclosureofthecontrolvalves:Ifduringturbinestart-up,speedfallsbelowthesetspeedtransientwithinacriticalspeedband,thesignalforAbortstartupANFABRisusedtostopthisprocess.Ifthesettingfortheturbinestart-upandliftlimiterTABisbelowtheadmissionstartvalue,thisisthentrackedinresponsetothesignalforLimitvaluefortrackingforturbinestartupandliftlimiterTABGNF.IftheturbinehasbeentrippedbythesteamturbineprotectionsystemDTSZusingthesignalforSteamturbinetripSS.Theaboveconditionsaresaved,displayedontheOMsystemwiththemessageTrackspeedset-pointNSNFandcanberesetagainusingthesignalforAcknowledgeset-pointcontrolSWFQprovidedthatTurbinestart-upandliftlimitersetto50%TAB50isactiveandthesignalforLimitpressurereachedGDERisnotactive.Thespeedset-pointcontrolisstoppedifthedifferencebetweentheDelayedspeedset-pointNSVandTurbinespeedNTislargerthantheLimitvalueforcontroldeviationforspeedGDNTandtheSpeedset-pointcontrolisrampingupNSVH.ThisinadmissibleconditionissignaledontheOMsystemwiththemessageControldeviationforspeedtoolargeDNTGR.Thespeedset-pointcontrolislikewisestoppedusingthesignalforStopspeedset-pointcontrolSTNPSifadiscrepancy,forexampleamissingstart-upcriterion,isdetectedduringstart-upoftheturbinewiththemastercontrolprogramTAA.TheSpeedset-pointNSandtheDelayedspeedset-pointNSVaresettoappropriatecalculatedvaluesoncontrollerswitchoverbetweenloadoperationwithloadcontrollerandloadoperationwithspeedcontrollerDate
