41Part1思維導圖Part2秘訣(一):情感似人“手”人們常被情感掌控,受其制約。而中文中的“掌控”就是來源于“手掌”。于是,情感就可以比喻成一雙無形的手,也就非常貼切了。我們發(fā)現(xiàn):用于手的一些動作可以直接應用于某種情感。這類動作有:表示“抓住”類的動詞:seize,grasp,grip,takeholdof表示“覆蓋”:cover表示“撕成碎片”:tearintopieces我們來看下面幾個例句:(1)Feargrippedherheart.她心中充滿恐懼。(grip抓?。?)Jealousyseizedher.她妒火中燒。(seize抓?。?)Awildjoytookholdofher.她十分快樂。(4)Afeelingofpanicseizedher.她突然驚慌失措。(5)Anxietytoreherintopieces.她焦慮不安身心憔悴。(tore是tear的過去式,表“撕扯”)(6)Angerandbitternesscovereduponmeforweeks.我好幾周都沉浸在憤怒和痛苦中。(bitterness是bitter“痛苦的”名詞形式)Part3秘訣(二):情感似對手漢語里也有類似的說法:“我被什么情緒打敗了”。將情感比喻為人的對手,那么人與情感之間的關系仿佛在比賽或斗爭。但是漢語中,這種表達中情緒更多是負面情緒,而英文中,則沒有這個限制。我們來看常見的動詞有哪些?被情感對手“擊敗”。于是,動詞通常是getthebetterof或者getthebestof(都表示“勝過”)。例如浙江2020年1月高考續(xù)寫文本中就寫到:Hestoodup,huggedhisparents,andsmiled,tryingnottolethisemotionsgetthebetterofhim.(他站起來,抱住爸爸媽媽,并露出笑容,努力不讓情感控制他。)在這句里,就用到了getthebetterof的結構,表示“勝過”。我們再看幾個例子:(1)Enthusiasmgetsthebetterofme.我太激動了。(enthusiasm熱情)(2)Boredomoftengetsthebestofthem.他們常感到非常無聊.(boredom無聊)(3)Hiscuriositygotthebetterofhim.他異常好奇,(curiosity好奇心)Part4秘訣(三):情感似壓迫者我們可以控制情感,反過來,情感也可以變得強大,反客為主,成了統(tǒng)治者,壓迫者,我們被情感控制。這是動詞可以是:oppress壓迫,甚至是deprive(表示剝奪,deprive通常與of搭配),還可以是prey(捕獵,折磨)我們來看下面幾個例句:(1)Worryingdeprivedhimofsleep.他焦慮萬分,難以入睡。(2)Excitementdeprivedmeofallpowerofspeech.我激動得什么話都說不出來。(3)Astonishmentandhorroroppressedher.她驚恐不安。(oppress壓迫)(4)Angerandbitternesshadpreyeduponmecontinually.我感到憤怒和痛苦。(prey本意是“捕獵”,在這里引申為“折磨”。非常形象的表達,“憤怒”和“痛苦”像獵人一樣,而“我”成了獵物,不就是我被這兩種情緒折磨著嗎?)Part5秘訣(四):情感似動物情感也會有動物的一些特點,會悄無聲息地“爬”到你身邊,即用動詞crawl/creep(爬),有時還會咬(gnaw)、吞噬(swallow/swallow)你。例如:(1)Happinesscrawlsuptothetipsofhisbrows.他喜上眉梢。(字面意思是“幸福爬到他的眉毛尖”)(2)Aslightfeelingoffearslowlycreptonhim.他慢慢感到一絲恐懼。(crept是creep過去式,意思是“爬”)(3)Self-doubtbegantognawawayatherconfidence.自我懷疑正在蠶食她的自信心。(4)Fearswallowedher.她非常驚恐。(字面意思是“恐懼吞掉了我”,是不是很形象?)Part6秘訣(五):情感似光線有人說:“積極的心態(tài)像太陽,照到哪里哪里亮;消極的心態(tài)像月亮,初一十五不一樣?!彼哉f,情感和光線變化密切相關。我們也有這種生活體驗在sunny(晴朗)的天氣,人們會感到開朗高興,情感像光一樣散發(fā)(radiate)與傳播(spreadacross),而在cloudy(陰云密布)或者dark(光線晦暗)則讓人心情阻塞、郁悶不快。例如:(1)Joyshonefromhisbrow.他喜上眉梢。(2)Happinessradiatesfromherface.榮光換發(fā)。(radiate發(fā)散,發(fā)光)(3)Smilespreadacrosshisface.他滿臉笑容。當然還有用“人或物”作主語的(4)Shehasbeeninadarkmoodthisweek.她這周心情一直不好。(adarkmood用黑暗來形容心情mood,當然是“心情不好”。)(5)Hisfacecloudedoverwhenheheardthenews.聽了這個消息,他滿臉愁云。(這個句子把云cloud這個名詞當做動詞用,over覆蓋,cloudover這個詞組把“烏云密布”這種形象就表現(xiàn)出來了)Part7秘訣(六):情感似重擔在中文中,我們有時候說某種負面情緒的時候,可以這么表達“很壓抑,壓得我喘不過氣來”,這里的“壓”顯示出,在描寫情感時候,賦予它重量感。英文也是如此:憂慮、悲傷、憤怒等消極情感猶如重擔bearon(壓在?上面),需要人們carry(承受),而這些情感負擔的unburden(卸去)、lose(失去)則會讓人感到輕松、獲得解脫。例如:(1)Griefbearsheavilyonher.她承受著悲傷的巨大壓力。還有以“人”作主語的:Hewasburdenedwithworries他心事重重。(burden裝在,負重。非常有意思是,在漢語中,“心事重重”中的“重”是一個多音字,也讀zhong,“負重”的“重”。)(3)Themanagercarriedhisanger.經(jīng)理怒火沖沖。(4)AfterIlostmytemper,Ifeltlighter.發(fā)脾氣之后,我感到輕松多了。(lostmytemper字面意思好像是“失去了脾氣”,其實就是情緒失控,發(fā)脾氣)(5)Unburdeningherselfofherangergaveherasenseofrelief.釋放了怒火后,她感到一種解脫。(第二個例子中提到了burden裝在,負重,加上了否定前綴un,意思為“卸去負擔”)Part8秘訣(七):情感似液體在漢語中,如果用一個成語來形容兩個人感情很好,我們可以用“水乳交融”,水和乳都是液體。同樣的道理,在英語中,情感也常常被比作液體。常見的名詞有:波紋(ripple)或wave(波浪)或flood(洪流),常見的動詞有:涌出(wellup),surge(涌動)甚至sweep(沖;卷),有時fill/brim/takepossessionof(注滿/盛滿/占滿)容器,有時overflow/well(漫出/溢出)容器,在高溫下甚至會boil(沸騰).我們來看下面的例句:(1)Panicsurgedupwithinhim.他惶恐不安。(surge涌起,字面的意思是“恐懼在他身體里涌起”)(2)Theterriblescenefilledherwithfear.恐怖的場景使她十分害怕。(3)Awaveofpanicsweptoverher.一陣驚恐襲上她的心頭。(4)Thelonelinessandgriefcomesinwaves.陣陣孤獨與痛苦襲上心頭。當然還有用“人”做主語的:(1)Hisheartisoverflowingwithjoy.他滿懷喜悅。(2)Icouldfeelangerboilingupinsideme.我感到怒火中燒。(字面意思是:“憤怒”已經(jīng)“boil沸騰了”)(3)Hewasbrimmingwithsorrowwhenshelefthim.她離開他時,他滿懷悲傷。(brim是“邊緣”的意思,作動詞表示“溢出”。悲傷這種情緒從內心溢出來了。)現(xiàn)在我們把學到的表達用到作文中,我們用的是2020年新高考全國卷,即山東卷。講述的是:賣爆米花方法救助窮人的故事。【情境一】Mrs.Meredith聽了孩子們“賣爆米花”的主意之后,感到很滿意,為孩子們的善良機智而驕傲。我們可以這樣寫:AwaveofsatisfactionandpridesurgedupinsideMrs.MeredithasJohnexplainedhisidea.當約翰解釋他的想法時,梅雷迪思太太心中涌起了一股滿足感和自豪感。(這句話就把驕傲與滿足之感比喻成液體)【情境二】當John找到貧困小男孩Bernard,并向他說了幫助他賺錢的主意之后,Bernard十分感動。AfterBernardlearnedaboutJohn’sidea,gratitudeobviouslygotthebetterofthispoorboy,andmoistenedhiseyes.在伯納得知約翰的想法后,非常感動,他的眼睛濕潤了。(這句話里,把感激比喻成對手,Bernard忍不住感動而流淚。)Part9情緒描寫微技能訓練一:微技能一(表示感到害怕frightened)表示害怕的詞/詞組:frightened;panicked;scared;speechless;in(a)panic;inacoldsweat;befulloffear;befilledwithterror;berootedtothespot;freeze;runaway;flee;one’skneesfeelweak;(hands)sweat;例句:當看到那只兇惡的狼時,我感到很害怕。1、大家可以先嘗試用概括描述,先將意思表達清楚。2、請你在此概括描述的基礎上增加細節(jié)描述,注意邏輯關系以及語意的合理。1)2)3)【答案】1.Atthesightoftheferociouswolf,Ifeltveryscared.2.1)Atthesightoftheferociouswolf,Ifeltsoscaredthatmythroattightenedandmykneesfeltweak.(嗓子發(fā)緊,膝蓋發(fā)軟)2)Atthesightoftheferociouswolf,Ifrozewithterror,tooscaredtomoveaninch.(嚇呆了,不敢動彈)3)Atthesightoftheferociouswolf,Iwasseizedbyastrongsenseofhorrorandmypalmsweresweating.(被深深地恐懼感所控制,手心出汗)【高分情緒描寫句子】①Heturnedtome,withhiseyesfullofhorror.
