Studiesservefordelight,forornament,andforability.Theirchiefusefordelight,is

inprivateness私人性的andretiring退隱；forornament裝飾，isindiscourse演講；andfor

ability,isinthejudgementanddisposition處事ofbusiness.

讀書足以怡情，足以傅彩，足以長才。其怡情也，最見于獨處幽居之時；其傅彩

也，最見于高談闊論之中；其長才也，最見于處世判事之際。

Forexpert老練的andexecute,andperhapsjudgeofparticulars細(xì)節(jié),onebyone;

butthegeneralcounsels顧問，andtheplotsandmarshalling整理ofaffairs,comebest

formthosethatarelearned.Tospendtoomuchtimeinstudiesissloth懶惰；tousethemtoo
