Duringthelessonon'TimetoTidy',Ifeltthatthestudentswerequiteengaged,especiallywhenwegotintotherole-playingpart.Theyseemedtoenjoyusingthenewphrasesandapplyingtheminreal-lifescenarios.However,therewereafewthingsthatIthinkwecouldhavedonebetter.

Firstoff,Inoticedthatsomestudentswereabithesitanttospeakupinthebeginning.It'snotuncommonfornewlearnerstofeelabitshy,butIthinkIcouldhavecreatedamoresupportiveenvironment.MaybeIcouldhavestartedwithsomesmallergroupactivitiestobuildtheirconfidencebeforemovingontothefullclassdiscussion.Nexttime,I'llmakesuretointroducemorelow-stakesspeakingactivitiestohelpthemwarmup.

Theuseofmultimediaresourceslikepicturesandvideoswasquiteeffective.Thestudentswereabletovisualizetheconceptsandunderstandthevocabularybetter.However,Ialsorealizedthatsomestudentsmighthavebeendistractedbythetechnology.Inthefuture,I'llmakesuretokeepthefocusonthelearningobjectivesandnotletthetoolsovershadowthecontent.

Intermsofthelessonstructure,Ithinkwecouldhavespentabitmoretimeonthevocabularyandsentencestructuresbeforedivingintotherole-playing.It'simportanttogivestudentsasolidfoundationbeforetheytrytoapplywhatthey'velearned.I'llplantoincorporatemoreinteractivevocabulary-buildingactivitiesinthefuture,suchasmatchinggamesorflashcards,toreinforcethelanguagebeforewemoveontomorecomplextasks.

Thestudentsshowedgoodprogressinunderstandingtheimportanceoftimemanagementanddailyroutines.Theywereabletodescribetheirownroutinesandunderstandthetextweread.Theirabilitytousethenewphrasesincontextwasalsoimpressive.However,somestudentsstruggledwiththetimingexpressions,particularlywhenitcametodistinguishingbetweenspecifictimesandtimeperiods.I'llneedtoprovidemoreexamplesandpracticeexercisestohelpthemmasterthisaspect.

Intermsofemotionalandsocialdevelopment,thestudentsseemedtoenjoyworkingtogetheringroups.Theywereabletocollaborateandshareideas,whichisagreatskilltohave.Ithinkwecouldhavedonemoretocelebratetheirachievementsandencouragethemtocontinueworkingtogetheroutsideofclass.

Asfortheteachingmanagement,IthinkIdidadecentjobofkeepingtheclassmovingsmoothly.However,Ididfindmyselfsometimesrushingthroughcertainpartsofthelessontofiteverythingin.Ineedtobemoremindfulofthepacingandensurethatwehaveenoughtimeforeachactivitywithoutfeelingrushed.

Toimprove,Iplanto:

-Startwithmorespeakingactivitiestobuildconfidence.

-Usemultimediaresourcesmorestrategicallytoenhancelearningwithoutcausingdistraction.

-Spendmoretimeonfoundationalvocabularyandsentencestructures.

-Provideadditionalpracticeexercisesfortimingexpressions.

-Celebratestudentachievementsandencouragecontinuedcollaboration.

-Managethepacingofthelessonmoreeffectivelytoensurethoroughcoverageofcontent.
