Can you guess?Ss: While-readingTask 1: Analyze the text type of the passage and the ways of dealing it.T: Maybe your guess is right, maybe wrong. Why dont we read the passage of Nancy and find out the reasons. First of all, could you guess what text type of the passage it is?Ss: T: You are right. (How do you know?)We can also find it from the title. Yes?T: When we talk about a story, we can always deal it from five useful questions. What are they?Ss: Who; Where; When; What; Why. (板書上Who; Where; When; What; Why.)T: Who are the characters? Where did the story happen? When did the story happen? What is the main idea of the story? Why does the writer write this passage? First lets use scanning to finish the “who, where and when” questions. Would you please look through the passage quickly and find the information you need.”T: Who are the characters?Ss: Our dog, Nancy and Nancys mom. T: Where did the story happen? Ss: At home. T: When did the story happen?Ss: Last month; For one week; The next day. T: Wow, you did a great job in scanning.Task 2: What is the main idea of the passage?T: Now lets move to the “what” question. What is the main idea of the passage? Well, its a little difficult to answer the question right now. Lets first divide the story to make it easier. How can we divide the story and how many parts?Ss: T: Why?Ss: According to different times.Ss: T: Well, different people have different opinions. Its OK. From “Last month, for one week, the next day”, the story can be divided into three parts, right? We say the pink part is Scene1, the orange part is Scene2, the green part is Scene3.Task 3: Read Scene1T: Well, Scene1 comes first. Read Scene 1 carefully and finish the following two tasks. Task1: Read Para.1-2 and fill in the actions of each character. You should pay attention to the verbs. What did they do?Nancy: (one student act out)The dog: Mom: T: Verbs are very interesting.
