Unit 9 What does he look like ? Period 1教學目標:1.知識與技能目標:a. Words: curly, straight, tall, medium, height,thin, heavy, buildb.Sentence patterns: What does he/ she look like?She is medium build and she has long hair.2.過程與方法:通過例子“I am thin; What do you look like引人創(chuàng)設情景,讓學生猶如身臨其境,采用學生提出問題,學生回答問題,借助媒體來提高學生的主動性。3.情感與文化目標:通過描述同學、教師或自己的偶像的外貌,表達自己的看法,使學生在人際交 往中學會尊重和理解別人。教學重、難點:1.重點:掌握單詞,熟練掌握描述人的形象的句型。2.難點:掌握描述人的形象的句型。教學準備:The audiotape, word cards and some pictures教學時數(shù):One lesson課堂類型:New lesson 教學過程Step 1: Free talkT: What day is it today? S1: Today is Wednesday.T: Whats the date today? S2: Today is April 25th.T: How are you? S3: Im fine. And you?T: Fine. And How is the weather? S4: Its fine.( sunny, windy, rainy, cool, cold, warm, .)Step 2:Presentation 1Teacher can ask Ss some questions. If the weather is fine, what do you want to do? And If the weather is raining, what do you do at home? Then let Ss answer the questions freely. Then ask other students Do you like? I like playing basketball, watching TV. Then ask one girl the question, Do you have a doll at home? The teacher takes out a doll. Then Let the girl answer the question. 2Learn New words.Then Let Ss look at the doll. Teach them how to describe the doll What does it look like? It has long/ short hair. It is short and heavy. It has curly / straight hair. It is tall and thin.Then take out some dolls to teach them new words: hair, build, height, long , short, blonde, black, curly, straight,tall , thin , heavy, mediumThen let Ss read and remember these words Step 3: PracticeAsk one student to come here, in front of BBThen teacher asks one student “What does he look like?” Let the student describe him.The teacher helps the student answer: He is tall. He is medium. He has short hair. His hair is black. Then ask another student come here Do the similar activities. Step 4: Production: 1.Take out the picture, let Ss look at the picture and turn to thepage 49. Finish 1a .Match the words in the picture and read these words.2.Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks in the picture above on P49.Finish 1b3.Find the Amys friend in the picture and read the dialogue Step 5: ProgressLook at the pictures , describe them and practice the following dialogue:A: Is that your friend?B: Yes, it is. / No, it isnt.A: What does he look like?
