1、英語中一般的走和跑可分別用walk和run來表示,但還有許多不用加副詞性修飾語就能生動地描繪走和跑的詞。一、表示走的詞:1. dawdle:行動遲緩;閑蕩。例如:Stop dawdling and do some-thing useful. 不要閑蕩了,做點兒有益的事吧。The lazy boys dawdled all their way to school.那些懶孩子一路上慢吞吞地往學校走。2. stroll:不緊不慢地散步。例如:Every morning the old woman went for a stroll.這位老太太每天早晨出去散步。They used to stroll

2、along the river after supper.過去晚飯后他們常沿著河邊散步。3. straggle:行走過慢以至掉隊離群。例如:We all had reached the destination except that Xiao Li and Xiao Zhang were straggling behind.除了小李和小張慢吞吞地拖在后面外,我們都到了目的地。4. shuffle:拖著腳步慢慢地走路。例如:All the way he shuffled along.他一路都是這樣拖著腳步走的。The old man shuffled to the door.那老頭拖著腳步向門走

6、像幼兒學步那樣跌跌撞撞地走路,如果指成年人或老年人,則表示隨便走走。例如:On Sunday I often toddle round to see a friend.星期天我經(jīng)常走路去看朋友。Im just toddling to Marys. Why dont you come?我正要去瑪麗那兒,為什么不一起去?12. waddle:原指鴨子搖搖擺擺地走路,形容體胖腿短的人走路時那種搖來擺去的姿態(tài)。例如:He was so fat that he waddled like a duck.他太胖了,走起路來像鴨子似的。The stout old man waddled across the

12、isoners made a dash for freedom. 囚犯沖向自由。5. scamper:(小孩子)蹦蹦跳跳地跑,也表示小動物驚慌地跑。例如:The mouse scampered into its hole. 老鼠迅速地跑進洞里。The children ate with a wolfish appetite after scampering about for hours. 孩子們到處蹦蹦跳跳地鬧了幾個鐘頭后,吃起飯來狼吞虎咽。6. scuttle:膽怯地快跑或逃跑。例如:The illegal mongers scuttled off when they saw the po
