2、sessor must be confide nt that the evidence in dicates that the can didate is currently competent against the endorsed unit of competency. the onus is on candidates to provide sufficient evidenee to satisfy assessors that they currently hold the relevant competencieswhat is unit of competency?each u
3、nit of competency concerns the ability to perform particular tasks and duties to the standard of performs nee expected in the workplace competency requires the application of specified skills, kno wledge and attitudes re leva nt to effective participatio n in an industry, industry sector or enterpri

8、hings can be used to prove that you have relevant skills and knowledge. these are called evidenee. you need to decide what types of evidenee you can use and what best shows your skills and knowledge if you would like to discuss what you could use please con tact your rpl assessor.evidenee may be dir
9、ect, indirect or supplementary. direct evidence is work produced by you eg a report, samples of work. indirect evidence is about you (for example; ref ere nces, certificates, supervisor's reports) supplementary evidence supports and adds weight to the evidenee eg a test.some types of evidence yo
10、u might like to consider include: certificates or qualifications 一 these may be from previous training attended or courses completed e.g. first aid, safe lifting, or occupational health and safety training courses you may have attended. include any course details you have, which outline what learnin
11、g outcomes are covered in these courses. references or statements 一 from supervisors or work peers that can state what your skills are. this is particularly relevant if the person currently sees what you do as part of your job your assessor has forms for third party reports/review samples of your wo
12、rk 一 you can use examples of your work or from your workplace to support your claim. e.g. if you are giving evidenee for optimising a production unit then your evidence should show evidenee of optimization. video or audio tapes 一 you can organise to get a video or audio tape taken of you demonstrati
13、ng relevant tasks, for example comm un icati ng with others in the workplace. consideration must be given to confidentiality issues when choosing to use video or audiotapes. a diary, log book or journals 一 containing details of what you currently do each day. it is important that the entries relate
14、to the performs nee criteria e.g. if you are giving evidence for optimising a production unit module then your evidence should show evidence of optimization. direct observation 一 you may choose to negotiate having an assessor come into your workplace to directly observe certain skills. this must be
15、discussed with your workplace supervisor. statutory declarations this is a legal document written by you and witnessed by an authorised person. you can use it to make a declarati on about work or other re leva nt experie nee. once again it is important that the evidence relates to the performanee cr
16、iteria. documents 一 such as examples of letters or memos that you may have written, photographs showing you undertaking particular activities that reflects the performance criteria. references/performance appraisals 一 from employers and colleagues cv/resume, 一 a document outlining details of where y
17、ou have worked in the past and the kinds of workplace experience that you have had phone contacts 一 people that the assessor can con tact to verify skills and knowledge. interviews or presentations 一 of past or current workremember that recog nition of prior lear ning applies only to an entire unit
18、within a program of study. if you are unable to collect eno ugh evidence for a complete unit, the evidence that you provide will be considered and training and assessment will be negotiated to fill any “gaps:plan your evidence:before submitting your evidenee, or the range of information you are usin

22、show your skills for recognitionin order to have skills formally recognised in a national system, assessors must make sure you have the skill to the industry standard. this means you must be involved in a careful and comprehensive process that really covers the content of all of the units or qualifi
23、cations you can be recognised for.your skills and experience from the past 2 years are the most important in the assessment because these show you are current in the industry.assessment can happen in a variety of ways being prepared can save you lots of time and hassle. here are some tips and hints
24、to prepare for a recog nition process.1. research the training package's mandatory modules thoroughly, these modules are compulsory and will govern which qualification level your evidenee will point you to.2. after indentifying the mandatory modules the next step is to align the training package's packaging rules these packaging rules
