1、Good afternoon, everyone. Im Zhou Yan. Im an English teacher from Experimental School of Suqian. Now Ill say Sample A of Lesson Six in Book One. Ill prepare to say the lesson from four parts. Part One Analysis of the Teaching Material (一) STATUS AND FUNCTION 1.This is an important lesson in Book One

2、. From this lesson, it starts asking the Ss to grasp contents of each Sample. To attain “four skills” request of listening, speaking, reading and writing. To start listing “Word Bank” and tell the Ss to remember the new words. To start asking the Ss to write the English sentences well. Therefore thi

3、s lesson is in the important position of the teaching material. 2.This lesson is the first one of Unit 2.So if the Ss can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit. 3.Such a topic is related to daily life, so it is helpful to raise learning interests of students an

4、d it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English. (二)ANALYSIS OF THE STUDENTS The Ss has learned English for about one month so far. They can understand some words and some simple sentences. The Ss have taken a great interest in English now. (三)TEACHING AIMS AND DEMANDS The teaching aim'

5、;s basis is established according to Junior School English syllabus' provision. 1.Knowledge objects (1) To make the Ss know how to use the affirmative sentence “This is. . . .” and the negative sentence “This is not.”Everyday expressions for “Apologies”“I'm sorry”“That's all right”. (2)

6、To study the new words “six, hey, sorry, its, thats”, etc. by learning the dialogue of this lesson. (3) To finish some exercises. 2.Ability objects (1) To develop the Ss abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. (2) To train the Ss ability of working in pairs. (3) To develop the Ss abil

7、ities of communication by learning the useful structures. 3.Moral objects (1) To enable the Ss to be polite and love life. (2) To enable the Ss to look after their things well. (四)TEACHING KEY AND DIFFICULT POINTS The teaching key and difficult points basis is established according to Sample A of Le

8、sson Six in the teaching material's position and function. 1.Key points: (1).To help the Ss to communicate with each other. (2).To enable the Ss to study in groups and co-operate skillfully. (3).To develop the Ss interest in English. 2.Difficult points: (1) How to make dialogues and act them out

9、. (2) How to write the right whole sentences. (五) TEACHING AIDS Multi-media computer, Tape recorder, Software: Powerpoint or Authorware, school things and so on. They will be needed in this lesson. Part Two The Teaching Methods 1. Communicative teaching method 2. Audio-visual teaching method 3. Task

10、-based” teaching method As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School is to cultivate students abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly use “Communicative” teaching method, “Au

11、dio-visual” teaching method and “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, Ill let the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structure of the dialogue. Ill give the Ss some tasks and arrange five kinds of activities: talking, guessing games, watching CAI, acting out Sample A and having a co

12、mpetition. Teaching special features To use these methods are helpful to develop the Ss thought. Part Three STUDYING WAYS 1.Teach the Ss how to be successful language learners. 2.Let the Ss pass "ObservationImitationPractice " to study language. 3.Teach the Ss how to master dialogues and h

13、ow to communicate with others. Teaching special features: Let the Ss communicate with each other and adopt competition methods to develop the Ss keen interest in English. Part Four Teaching Procedure Ill finish this lesson in four steps. First Ill divide the Ss into four groups and bring a competiti

14、on into the class. At last lets see which group is the winner. Step1 Warm-up 1. Free talk between T and Ss . Such as: Hi, Im . . . . Whats your name? This is . How do you do? Who is he/she? How are you? Who can count from 1to 5? Whats this in English? etc. 2.A game: Ask the Ss to give T some school

15、things. For example: T: Give me your book.(ruler, box, pen, table, knife, etc.) T: This is your book. This is not my book. Its your book. etc. In this course Ill ask them to make a dialogue group by group without repetition. Find out which group will make the most dialogues. Purpose of my designing:

16、 I think it is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by imitating and at the same time it is necessary to provide situations to review learned knowledge. Step2. Presentation This course is very important. Ill mainly talk about this step. Ill use CAI to present the whole

17、dialogue. Arrange some situations to help Ss understand Sample A. First scene: There is a bag on the floor. B is picking it up and get ready to leave. Now A is talking with B. A: Hi, B. How are you today? B: Im fine, thank you. And you? A: Im fine, too. Oh, this is my bag. B: No, this is not your ba

18、g. Its my bag. A: (Look closely) Oh, Im sorry. B: Thats all right. (At the same time, C is running up and hitting A.) C: Oh, Im sorry. A: Thats OK. Ill write the key points on the Bb while they are watching. After watching, Ill teach them to read the words and sentences on the Bb. Make sure they can

19、 read them well. Purpose of my designing: To present Sample A by CAI is much easier for the Ss to learn and grasp the meanings. CAI can provide a real situation with its sound and picture and it makes the relationships between the Ss better. Step3.Practice First play the tape recorder. Let the Ss li

20、sten and imitate the dialogue. Pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation. In this step the Ss are required to practise the Sample in pairs by reading the dialogue aloud. This step is employed to make the Ss grasp the Sample .At last Ill ask the Ss to think hard and act it out with a partne

21、r according to Sample A. Then find out which group will act it out well. Ill give them red stars. Purpose of my designing: This step is employed to make the Ss get the general idea of the dialogue as a whole one. At the same time let the Ss have a chance to practise their listening and spoken abilit

22、y. Step4.Production In this step Ill give the Ss a free space to show their abilities. Second scene: The Ss are having a picnic. Its hot and they take off their coats and put them together. They are singing and dancing, laughing and chatting. After the picnic, they begin to look for their coats. D a

23、nd E are talking. F and G are talking. etc. After watching, Ill give the Ss some tasks to make similar dialogues without repetition and find out which group will make more dialogues. Purpose of my designing: “Task-based” teaching method is used here to develop the Ss ability of communication and als

24、o their ability of co-operation will be well trained. Tell the Ss we should be polite and take good care of our things. We should love our life. I think proper competition can arouse the Ss interest in English learning. If the Ss can finish this task well, they will benefit a lot in their spoken Eng

25、lish. 2.Skill 1 Model 1. Ill ask four Ss of the groups to write these sentences on the Bb in the four lines. Then check their handwriting, correct their mistakes. Find out who will write well and whose handing is the best. 3.Finish the Ss workbook. Purpose of my designing: To check the knowledge Ss

26、have learned in this lesson. Step5.Homework: (1)Recite the words as many as possible after class. (2)Make a dialogue according to Sample A and write it in the exercise book. Purpose of my designing: I think homework is so important that the Ss should speak English as much as they can in class or aft

27、er class. It is necessary for the Ss to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned. According to the problem of Chinese students learning English , the book design a lot of material to improve the students ability of listening speaking, reading, and writing. So I think the book is very good. Then

31、Ill talk about next part analysis of the students. It is known to us that the kids are very active and like playing games very much, so during my class, Ill design some interesting games to activate them to participate and learn something. They will also be interested in the class. Next Ill talk abo

32、ut teaching methods. My teaching methods are task-based approach and situational approach. Using different methods can make the class active. Lets move on to another part, teaching aims and demands. There are knowledge aims and ability aims.Knowledge aims are to enable the students to master the wor

33、ds and phrases:. And the sentences: Ability aims are To improve students listening and speaking ability by reading and practicing the dialogue. Next is the teaching aids. In this class, Ill use pictures, PPT and tape recorder. These can arouse the students interest in English. Now Ill talk about mos

34、t important part teaching procedure. It consists of 5 steps. Warning up, lead-in, contents key points and difficult points and homework. Step1 is warming up. Here Ill use PPT to play a English song Bingo for the students and Ill ask them try to follow it to sing together. By this, the students can b

35、e interested in it and pay their attention to our class easily and improve their ability of speaking. The main topic of this unit is shopping. Functions are “asking about pr

We know, according to the current syllabus, one of the main aims of English teaching in junior middle school is to improve students communicating ability in English. Then how can we develop students communicating ability? As teachers, we should

39、carry out the spirit of the syllabus in handling the teaching materials. And one more thing is that in Section A, there is only one sentence pattern: how much It is very hard to carry out the real shopping activity. Whats more, most students have learned English in primary schools. We should prepare

40、 something for these students. Therefore, I include other sentences like: here is the money, we spent we getThese are the teaching materials in this class, and above is why I add more sentence patterns to this class. Because of the characteristics of the teaching materials and current level of Junio

41、r One students, I focus on these teaching aims.(1)  Learn and grasp the vocabulary and the sentence pattern: how much (2)  Use the sentences theyve learned to communicate.(3)  Describe the clothing items by using adjectives like red yellow big small and so on.(4)  Arouse the inte

42、rest and confidence of learning English.(5)  Train the students team spirit and gain appreciation from the experience of team work.Among these aims, Aim 1 is set to increase and consolidate students language knowledge. Aim2 is set to students language competence. Aim 3 is to improve students la

43、nguage skills. Aim 4 and 5 are to let students help each other, know one of the ways to teach themselves, or in other words, for the purpose of morality.2) Teaching main points and difficult ones.a. Learn and grasp the vocabulary and sentence patterns.b. Learn and understand the function of asking a

44、nd answering “how much” through communicative activities.c. Arouse the interest and confidence of English learning.I have mentioned the main points in the above step and the difficult one is to enable the students to ask and answer about the prices.How can we solve this problem?3) Teaching procedure

45、sFor the whole class, “Super Student Contest” is just a clue to go through it. I use the clue because of the following reasons:a.      The students are very interested in the TV show “Super girl”.b.     The courage of super girls is worth owning.c. &

46、#160;   Its a contest. So it can train the students competitive spirit also team spirit.d.     I want them to know if they work hard step by step, they are sure to get something.They have many passes to go. If they do well in one pass, they can get an apple.The aims can

47、 be achieved only by carrying out the carefully designed teaching procedures. So the teaching procedure is arranged in the following way.Task1: Warming upThe first step is to use a song to warm up. A good presentation plays an important part in accomplishing the teaching aims of a class. It can warm

48、 up the class atmosphere and make it lively. It can activate the students. In this way, the students can be “open” to the input. So at the beginning of the class, I will let them listen to a song: Ten little Indian boys.This song is very funny. While listening to the song, I will let students stand

49、up one by one to make it more interesting. Also its a good way to revise numbers. Then say “Welcome to Super Student Contest” to lead in the class.Task 2: Pass 1 Memory challengeShow the students some pictures for a few seconds, then cover them. Let them guess what is in the picture. The purpose of

50、this task is to check students preview work. The students are asked to learn how to pronounce and spell words by themselves. In the traditional way, students were asked to follow the teachers many times to read the new words. I am sure this method is far more popular with students. Then the students

51、 read the words. Pointing to the picture and ask: what color is it? They may answer like this: the hat is yellow. Write on the blackboard: its a yellow hat. Then train with plural nouns. Then show two hats and two sweaters. Teach big, small, long and short. Make sure the students can say like this:

52、it is a long green shirt. In this part, I will take real objects as teaching items as students usually like this way.Task3: Pass 2 Suit matching Let one student whose clothes look very nice stand up. Say “it is a yellow shirt. These are long blue pants. They match well.” Then let them do group work.

53、 Each group offer the coolest suit matching. Show their suit in front of the whole class. The students use their own clothes to do group work. It will enhance their initiative to study. The real purpose of this task is to develop the students ability to describe something when they see it. By doing

54、that, at the same time, I think it offers an opportunity to tell what is beauty.Task 3: Pass 3 Guessing the priceIts very natural to go through this task when Task 2 is finished. Let the coolest suit stay. Ask about the price of the cheapest thing of his. “How much is your hat?” Help him to answer.

55、Maybe, the students cant understand. I pretend to buy his hat and take out the money from my pocket. Then ask the students the price of some cheap things. “How much is the eraser?” “Its 1 yuan.” “How much are these two erasers?” “They are 2 yuan.” Ask them to guess the price in pairs. Just like Li Y

56、ong does in “Lucy 52”. Show them a picture of Lily. Guess the price of her clothing. This task is set to practise the sentence pattern: how much is this/ are these? Also let them know different countries use different money and know some market information.Task 4: Pass 4 Listening challengeWe cant n

57、eglect listening part as it is a very important skill. Show the pictures and tell the colors and guess the price of the items. Say “l(fā)ets see if your guesses are right”. Listen to the tape and fill in the table with key information. The usual way of dealing listening material is to circle the thing s

58、tudents hear. Id like to let them do something different. The students need to consolidate what they talk about a moment before. I wont let them fill in the clothing items because they are familiar with the color words and number words. They will feel confident when they finish the task. Task 5:Pass 5 The best imitatorAsk “what about the hat? How much is it?” to lead to this task. Listen once and answer the question. Listen and repeat. Then read in pairs. Try to imitate the pronunciation and intonation. Imitation is a good way to learn English well, especi
