8、語動(dòng)詞要根據(jù)but also 后的名詞決定單、復(fù)數(shù)(就近原則)。例如：Not only the students but also the teacher was against the plan.不僅學(xué)生們, 還有那位老師都反對(duì)該項(xiàng)計(jì)劃。(the teacher was.)Not only the teacher but also the students were against the plan.不僅那位老師, 還有學(xué)生們 (the students were)D、在not only.but also 搭配中，可以省略also。例如：He was not only compelled t

9、o stay at home,( but ) also forbidden to see his friend.他不僅被近留在家里，還被禁止去看他的朋友。4.dare: dare可用實(shí)意動(dòng)詞和情態(tài)動(dòng)詞。用作情態(tài)動(dòng)詞時(shí)，意思是“敢”，其后接動(dòng)詞原形，通常只用于否定句或疑問句以及if或whether之后，一般不用于肯定句： Dare you tell her the truth? 你敢告訴她事實(shí)真相嗎? I dont know whether he dare try. 我不知他是否敢試一試。 I darent ask her for a rise. 我不敢要求她加薪。 【注】I dare say

10、是習(xí)慣說法(用于肯定句)，并不一定要譯為“我敢說”，它所表示的是一種不肯定的語氣，常譯為“很可能”、“大概”、“我想”等，有時(shí)用作反語： I dare say (that) you are right. 我想你是對(duì)的。 Oh, you mean to win? I dare say you will. 啊，你想打贏? 我且看你贏吧。 (2) dare用作實(shí)意動(dòng)詞時(shí)意為“敢于”，可以有各種詞形變化，可用于各類句型(肯定句、否定句、疑問句及各類從句等)，其后多接帶 to 的不定式，有時(shí) to 也可省去(尤其是在否定句或疑問句)等： We must dare to think, speak and
