3、ts learning interests.Part 2 Teaching aimsI set three teaching aims according to the New Curriculum Standard. 1. Knowledge & skillsStudents can master the new words: shocked, silence; new phrases: take down, at first. Students can master the new sentence patterns.2. Process & methodsStudents

7、s active in class.Part 6 Teaching proceduresStep 1 Lead-inI will show students a video clip of Trump running for American president and ask them what they were doing when Trump was elected president of USA. The purpose is to improve students enthusiasm and lead in the topic.Step 2 Pre-readingI will

8、let students have a free talk about important events in American history and then look at the title and the pictures to predict what the passage talks about. The purpose is to create a relaxing learning atmosphere and facilitate students learning of the passage.Step 3 While-readingIn this step I des

9、ign three activities.Activity 1 Skimming: I will ask students to skim the passage and try to find out the main idea of each paragraph.Activity 2 Scanning: I will ask students to scan the passage and complete the chart.Activity 3 Careful-reading: I will ask students to read the passage carefully and

10、answer these questions: 1. What was Kate doing when the 911 attacks happened? 2. What was Robert doing when Martin Luther King was killed? In this step students reading comprehension abilities will be improved.Step 4 Post-readingI will ask students to form groups of 4 and do a survey about what they

11、 were doing when Germany won the championship of 2014 FIFA World Cup. Through discussion, students critical thinking and cooperative learning abilities will enhanced.Step 5 Summary and HomeworkI will ask students to summarize what we have learnt and I will make supplements saying that we should cherish the peaceful life because its very precious.
