3、different, that their voices could be that difference.今夕之釋然,皆蒙美利堅(jiān)民眾之協(xié)力學(xué)塾祠廟之外,市井鄉(xiāng)野之間,萬千父老心焦似焚,苦待竟日,愿獻(xiàn)一票之力。其中,平生未嘗涉國事者,數(shù)亦不少,而今有此義舉,皆因一念不衰今夫天下,非同既往,愿發(fā)吁天之聲,必成動(dòng)地之勢(shì)。Its the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight

7、ived an extraordinarily gracious call from Sen. McCain. Sen. McCain fought long and hard in this campaign. And hes fought even longer and harder for the country that he loves. He has endured sacrifices for America that most of us cannot begin to imagine. We are better off for the service rendered by

8、 this brave and selfless leader. I congratulate him; I congratulate Gov. Palin for all that theyve achieved. 16、!I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didnt start with much money or many endorsements. Our campaign was not hatched in the halls of Washington. It began in the backyards of Des Moines and the living rooms of Concord and the front porches of Charleston. It was built by working men

For even as we celebrate tonight, we know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis

Theres new energy to harness, new jobs to be created, new schools to build, and threats to meet, alliances to repair.是夜,飲宴笙歌之聲不絕于耳,而異邦大漠群

We may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get t

There are many who wont agree with every decision or policy I make as president. And we know

25、the government cant solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And, above all, I will ask you to join in the work of remaking this nation, the only way its been done in America for 221 years block by bloc

This

27、 victory alone is not the change we seek. It is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. It cant happen without you, without a new spirit of service, a new spirit of sacrifice.昔年冬日,余有志于斯,投身此業(yè),屈指算來,倏然近二載矣。當(dāng)此秋夜,追思反省,仍無潰退逃亡之意。選戰(zhàn)之勝,無非一役之功,余

Let us remember that, if this financial crisis taugh

29、t us anything, its that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers. Lets remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House, a party founded on the values of self-reliance and individual lib

31、erty and national unity.Those are values that we all share.黨爭紛紜,陰謀卑鄙,愚魯無知,皆腐蝕清白、惑亂政局之弊也,其緣由已久,余今愿與諸君協(xié)力,共滅除之。昔年曾有此郡先賢,執(zhí)共和黨之幟,而掌總統(tǒng)府之權(quán)。自強(qiáng)獨(dú)立,自由統(tǒng)一等信念,皆斯人之所倡,亦吾輩之所宗。And while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides tha

32、t have held back our progress. As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, we are not enemies but friends. But one thats on my mind tonights about a woman who cast her ballot in Atlanta. Shes a lot like

38、 the millions of others who stood in line to make their voice heard in this election except for one thing: Ann Nixon Cooper is 106 years old.今歲選戰(zhàn),多開亙古之先,屢傳千秋佳話。感我至深者,亞特蘭大之老嫗安?尼克松?庫帕也庫氏之一票,于數(shù)百萬美利堅(jiān)民眾之選票無異,其所以引人稱奇者,其人今歲高齡一百有六矣。She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no cars

Yes we can.當(dāng)百業(yè)蕭條,國人絕望哀鳴之際,庫氏親見吾美利堅(jiān)出曠世之新政,挽狂瀾于既倒,扶大廈之將傾,退畏懼之勢(shì),扶奮勇之心,終至人各有位,民心乃安吾輩既在,無所不能!When the bombs fell on our harbor and tyranny threatened the world, she was there to witness a generation rise to greatness and a democracy was saved.
