4、ic opinion,gear up propaganda machinery,make or repeal laws and what not.Backed up by public opinion,supported by the majority of the legislators,armed with the means to keep the people in a state of ignorance,political power crosses the limits of dictatorial powers.Political power,like the most pow
5、erful intoxicant,makes the persons in power to forget social ethics,political morality and obligations. Most of the learned youth in this country consider Politics to be a refuge for the scoundrels and this derogatory remark may be true if we look at the deceptive and degenerated type of politicians
6、 indulging in a dirty game.All these political parties are votaries of democracy,but the way they conduct themselves inside their own parties is nothing but senseless authoritarianism.Therefore a very few students choose to pursue Politics as a profession,but what they dont realize is that if we don
7、t take a stand the system can never be changed.Thus,I want to study Politics so I can come back to my country and contribute what little I can do for my homeland and its people.If I can inspire even a single person,it would be worth it.The world today is growing global.We are now not only to think o
8、f our own nation but as and when we think of it,we have to keep the international perception in mind;consequently,I chose Politics with International Relations as one of my courses. Studying in UK will breed a sense of individuality and self reliance.I would be able to interact with people from ever
9、ywhere and get to know about their culture.This would not only open new horizons for me,but would also clear some preconceived notions one has about the other.I have always been an active participant of debates.I have participated in 3 Model UN conferences out of which I was awarded with the Best De
10、legate award in two. I was also one of the two students to be selected from my school to participate in the English Speaking Union 08.Moreover, Ive taken part in Parliamentary style debates too.Therefore I believe I can communicate effectively in public and language will not be a barrier in my educa
11、tion.Furthermore, I have worked as an internee at Al-Shifa Eye Hospital for a month in summers.Here I learnt how to deal with patients,use the Auto Ref, handle files and punctuality.We also campaigned to a remote area near Murree where we helped the doctors in examining the patients free of cost.Ano

The problem of which I speak is none other than “The Orphan Sock Enigma,” the constant disappearance of individual socks during the laundering process. It is a problem familiar to all of us, and also one to which we have unwillingly admitte
31、d defeat. I recently decided that this puzzle had remained unsolved for too long, and resolved to find an explanation. (In the grand tradition of science, I refused to be discouraged by the basic irrelevance of my cause.) But the truth that I uncovered is more shocking and fantastic than I could hav

My procedures, observations, and conclusions are as follows: First, to verify that the problem exists, experimental and control loads of laundry were completely processed (put through the washer and dryer). In the xperimental load (load with socks), by the end of the process, some s
33、ocks were lost. But in the control load (load without socks), no socks were lost. Thus the problem was verified. Next the progress of a load of socks was carefully monitored. The results indicated that sock disappearance occurs during the period of time when the load is in the dryer. Following this
34、conclusion, a literature search was done and a very significant fact was uncovered: there is no mention of socks disappearing in dryers before the invention of dryers in the 1920s. All evidence clearly pointed to the dryer. And it is there that I would find the answer to the enigma. Then, the actual
35、 experiment was done. In four separate trials, a number of socks (ten socks, or five pairs) were put through a normal drying cycle. But when I sat down to come up with a couple of answers, I realized that leadership could be compared to almost anything a person wants. All I know about leadership I learned from a calculator. A calculator can add everything t
42、ogether to come up with the best answer. It can delet e what is unnecessary and only include what is important. It can solve any type of problem. These are all important equalities a leader has to have. A leader has to be able to add all of the ideas together to make the best possible plan. Leaders
43、have to know how to decipher the good and the bad out of an idea. They have to be versatile and know how to deal with different types of issues. All I know about leadership I learned from a ball. A ball is able to bounce back up after it is dropped. It is round and has no creases. A ball can be thro
44、wn back and forth to different people. All of these qualities are also leadership qualities. A leader has to be ready for every situation that is thrown at him or her. He or she has to be able to bounce back from any setbacks and never dwell on the past. Leaders have to exhibit many qualities and ne
45、ver be closed-minded about a situation. A leader must be able to delegate when he or she cannot get the work done. They have to trust everyone they lead to be able to catch the ball and keep a project rolling.
