7、動詞-ing形式做賓語和表語(4)動詞-ing形式是動詞的一種非謂語形式。在句中可以做主語、賓語、表語、定語、狀語和賓語補足語。一、動詞-ing形式做賓語1.英語中有些及物動詞后面的賓語只能用動詞-ing形式,常見的動詞有:enjoy,finish,avoid,admit,practise,consider,imagine,keep,advise,suggest,appreciate,allow,permit,forbid,mind,miss,excuse,risk,escape等。I first considered writing to her but then decided to se

8、e her.我起先考慮寫信給她,但后來決定去看她。It is very important that we should practise speaking English every day.我們應(yīng)該每天練習說英語,這是很重要的。2.做介詞的賓語。在下面的短語中,常用動詞-ing形式做介詞的賓語:be good at,dream of,care about,be concerned about,be interested in,feel like,insist on,think of,aim at,set about,get down to,lead to,devote oneself to

9、,look forward to,stick to,pay attention to等。He insisted on doing it in his own way.他堅持要按照自己的方法做。Im looking forward to your coming next time.我期待著你下一次的到來。3.在以下結(jié)構(gòu)中,動詞-ing形式做介詞的賓語,介詞常省略。 spend.(in) doing sth花費做某事have difficulty/trouble(in) doing sth做某事有困難/麻煩stop/prevent.(from) doing sth阻止做某事waste time (

10、in) doing sth浪費時間做某事be busy (in) doing sth忙于做某事have a good/hard time(in) doing sth高興做某事/費了很大勁做某事There is no point(in) doing sth做某事毫無意義He is always busy working every day,which has made him have little time to play with his child.他每天總是忙于工作,這使他很少有時間和孩子一起玩。There is no point giving him such a good chanc

11、e.給他提供這樣一個好機會沒有意義。4.動詞-ing形式做賓語時的幾個特殊情況(1)某些動詞(短語)后面既可以用不定式也可以用動詞-ing形式做賓語。動詞love,like,hate等后可跟動詞-ing形式和不定式做賓語,但接動詞-ing形式表示經(jīng)常性的情況,接不定式表示具體的動作。I love walking with my friend on a sunny day.(習慣)我喜歡和朋友在一個陽光明媚的日子里散步。It is a pleasant day today,so I love to walk with my friend.(具體)今天是個令人愉快的日子,所以我喜歡和朋友一起散散步

12、。后接動詞-ing形式和不定式意義不同的動詞(短語)既能接不定式,又能接動詞-ing形式,但意思不同的常用動詞(短語)有:remember,forget,mean,try,regret,stop,go on,cant help等。用法見下表:動詞(短語)接動詞-ing形式做賓語接不定式做賓語remember記得已經(jīng)做過某事記著要做某事forget忘記已經(jīng)做過某事忘記要做某事mean意味著做某事打算做某事try嘗試做某事盡力做某事動詞(短語)接動詞-ing形式做賓語接不定式做賓語stop中斷在做的事中斷在做的事去做別的事go on繼續(xù)做未完成的事做完一件事后,接著做另一件事cant help禁不

13、住做某事不能幫忙做某事He forgot turning the light off.他忘記他已經(jīng)關(guān)了燈。The light in the office is still on.He forgot to turn it off.辦公室的燈還亮著,他忘記關(guān)了。They stopped to have a look at the fantastic scenery.他們停下來,看了看這美妙絕倫的風景。They stopped working and had a rest.他們停下工作,休息了一下。(2)用it做形式賓語,真正的賓語是動詞-ing形式。其結(jié)構(gòu)如下:“主語+think/consider

14、/find/feel/believe +it + useless/no use/no good + doing.”。I found it no use arguing about it.我發(fā)現(xiàn)爭論這件事沒有用。I think it useless reading without understanding.我認為讀書不求甚解是沒用的。(3)動詞need,require,want意為“需要”時,后跟動詞-ing形式的主動式或不定式的被動式做賓語,意義沒有區(qū)別。The glass of these windows wants cleaning(=to be cleaned).這些窗戶的玻璃需要擦了

15、。二、動詞-ing形式做表語1.可以表示抽象的一般性的行為,用來說明主語的內(nèi)容,與主語通常是同一概念,表語和主語常可互換位置。His hobby is reading books in his spare time. = Reading books in his spare time is his hobby.他的愛好是在業(yè)余時間讀書。2.可以表示主語的某種性質(zhì)和特征,這類動詞-ing形式通常可以被看作形容詞。Her performance is very entertaining,which brings us much pleasure.她的表演非常有趣,給我們帶來很多樂趣。溫馨提示做表語

16、的動詞-ing形式,許多是由能夠表示人們某種感情或情緒的動詞變化而來的。常見的有:moving, interesting, encouraging, exciting, inspiring, boring, surprising, puzzling, amusing, astonishing等,這類動詞-ing形式有“令人的”的含義,常修飾物。即 學 即 練完成句子(1)當這個人看完信后,他看著他的朋友。After the man finished reading the letter,he looked at his friend.(2)李明一直夢想著將來可以開始他自己的生意。Li Ming
