In this unit we will learn how to compare peoples looks, personality, ability ,likes and dislikes.1a,use the theme picture to introduce new words, and match some groups of opposite words.1b input the topic sentence patterns while listening1c,o
3、utput the topic sentence to describe the other two band groups. Analysis of teaching Objectives Knowledge and ability objectives are to learn to use comparative level to compare and discuss features such as appearance ,guide the students to learn the sentences patterns and to use the listening strat
4、egies. The sentence patterns are also the focal points and difficult points. Emotional objectives and cultural awareness are guide students to understand how to compare the appearance and talent others objectively and appropriately 三.Focal points and difficult points. 5、四.Teaching methods.Teaching with pictures,conversation and doing some listening五.Teaching proceduresStep 1 lead in Show a picture of my student ,”help me, please ! ”they are my students ,but I cant differentiate them. They are smart shy and good-looking, please help me how I can differentiate them.
6、Guide the students to say from their looks personalities abilities likes and dislikes. Show some pictures and a video . Guide the students to know :they are twins. their looks are almost the same and their acting are similar. And show three pairs of twins, ask :can you help him/her look for the sist
7、er or brother? yes ,they have the same hair style and look the same., and twins also have similar names ,such as Tina and Tara which start with a letter t, and end with “a”Step 2 show the pictures of twins Ask some questions:Who is heavy, Peter or Paul? Who has long hair, Tom or Sam? Who is quiet, T
8、om or Sam? Who sings loudly, Tina or Tara? Who is short and thin, Peter or Paul?Ask students to look carefully and answerStep 3 1a First show a picture of Tom and Sam ,and ask questions:Is Sam quiet ? who is playing the guitar quietly? And who is outgoing?Guide students to answer the question and co
9、mprehend the meaning of opposite.Then Teach the new words quietly and loudly, Match the words with themselves and check the answers like this:The opposite of tall is short.The opposite of thin is heavy.This way ,they are more able to understand the meaning and usage of these wordsThen ask students t
10、o fill in the form :personal appearance and personal traits .and then add more words ,like funny friendly smart outgoing seriousStep 4 lets have a try Can we compare two people from their looksTina is taller than Tara. Sam has longer hair than Tom. Peter is heavier than Paul.Then show another four g
11、roups of people ,guide the students to describe Step 5 1b First ask students to look at the picture carefully again., and then ask : When we do some listening ,what can we focus on ?Guide the students to answer :we must focus on the names and the performance project .Play the recording Then check an
12、swers like this :Tom and Sam is number 1and then ask :how do you know that ?Guide them to answer :because I heard the names and play the guitar and play the drums In this way ,check the other two answersStep 5 listen again and answer the questions :How are they different? Play the recording twice, w
13、hen they listening ,ask them to use the Listening strategies: Write the initials and the key words. Then check the answers and teach the two new words both and betterAnd then ask students to follow the listening materials, imitate the speakers pronunciation and intonation, and check out the comparat
14、ive degree of adjectives and adverbs .After reading , review the antonym question “Thats Tara, isnt it? No, it isnt. “This sentence pattern must be answered according to the facts, and then ask students to Read the comparative sentences. Step 6 1c Show the topic picture again .Guide the students to practice the conversation, then make conversations about the other two twins.
