ConflictResolutionObjectivesAftercompletingthislesson,youshouldbeabletodothefollowing:DescribehowdataconflictscanberesolvedautomaticallyListtheprebuiltconflicthandlersthatareavailablewithOracleStreamsSpecifyaresolutioncolumnforresolvingconflictsCreateacolumnlistCreateaconflicthandlerforanapplyprocessManageconflicthandlersinadatabaseConflictResolutionDMLconflictsarealwaysdetectedbutnotalwaysresolved.Multiple,prebuiltupdateconflicthandlersareavailablewithOracleStreams.Youcanimplementyourownconflictresolutionproceduresusingapplyorerrorhandlers.Theprimarykeyorsubstitutekeyisusedtoidentifycolumnconflicts.Youmustconfiguresupplementalloggingatthesourcedatabaseforanycolumnsthatareinvolvedinconflictresolutionatthedestinationdatabase.PrebuiltConflictHandlersForupdateconflictsyoucanusethefollowingprebuiltconflictresolutionhandlers:OVERWRITEDISCARDMAXIMUMMINIMUMTherearenoprebuiltconflicthandlersforuniqueness,delete,ordering,orforeign-keyconflicts.ResolutionColumnsYoumustspecifyaconflictresolutioncolumnforallprebuiltconflicthandlers.TheMAXIMUMandMINIMUMconflicthandlerscannotresolveanupdateconflictbyusingtheresolutioncolumnif:ThenewresolutioncolumnvalueintheLCR

andthecurrentresolutioncolumnvaluein

PrebuiltUpdateConflictHandlersIfanapplyprocessdetectsaconflict,thefollowingeventsoccur:Forupdateconflicts,theapplyprocesscallsanappropriateupdateconflicthandler,ifdefined.Theapplyprocesscallstheerrorhandler:ForuniquenessordeleteconflictsIfanupdateconflictoccursoncolumnsnotinanycolumnlistIftheupdatehandlerwasnotsuccessfulinresolvingtheupdateconflictIftheerrorhandlerdoesnotexistorisnotsuccessful,theapplyprocessraisesanerrorandplacesthetransactionintheerrorqueue.ResolvingConflictswith
