第10頁(yè)共10頁(yè)四級(jí)晨讀美文FallfromUniversityGrace〔精選5篇〕篇1:四級(jí)晨讀美文四級(jí)晨讀美文廁所文化〔ToiletCulture〕Stayingatacertainplacelongenough.Everybodyneedstoknowwherethetoiletis.ItriedtofindonewhenIfirstvisitedtheDivinitySchoolLibrary,theoldestschoolinYaleUniversity:ItriedtofindthesignswithwordssuchasWC,Ladies,Bathroom,andWashroom.IusedalltheknowledgeIhadabouttoilet,butIcouldnotfindone.Mymonsensetoldmethatitwasimpossiblenottofindoneinthelibrary,soIkepttrying.EventuallyIfoundadooronwhichwasasingleword:WOMEN.任何人在一個(gè)地方停留一段時(shí)間,就需要知道廁所在哪里。當(dāng)我第一次到耶魯大學(xué)神學(xué)院圖書館時(shí)——神學(xué)院是耶魯大學(xué)最老的學(xué)院,我就想找?guī)?。我首先找“WC”,“Ladies”,“Bathroom”和“Washroom”等字樣,我?guī)缀跤昧宋覍W(xué)過(guò)有關(guān)廁所的所有詞匯,但還是沒有找到。生活常識(shí)告訴我,在這么大的圖書館沒有廁所是不可能的,我又繼續(xù)尋找,最后找到標(biāo)有“WOMEN”字樣的門。Althoughitdidnotlookatalllikeatoilet,Iassumeditmustbeone.AndbecauseIcouldn'twaitanylonger,Ihadtotryit.AsIopenedthedoor,IwassureImadeamistake,soIcameoutimmediately.ForwhatIhadenteredwasaroommuchlargerthanmylivingroominBeijing,withastandinglbyanantique-liketableonabeautifulgreencarpet.Ononesideoftheroom,therewasaverydecentbrownsofa,abovewhichtherewasawallmirroreduptotheceiling.Thereweretwoothersofas,bythesideofthetable.Inonecornerwasaclotheshangerandinanothercornerwasabigpotofgreenplants.Itlookedlikeasittingroomorlobbyinahotel.Therewasnosignofatoilet.Butitwastheonlypossibleplaceatoiletcouldbe.ThenIrememberedthattherewasanotherdoorintheroom,soIwentbackinandopenedthedoor.Andthereitwas!Whatrelief!Ifounditatlast!Thetoiletroomwasonlyhalfthesizeoftheouterroom.Ithadonlytwoseatswithtwosinks.Whatluxury“!Itwaslikeatwo-roomflat.盡管從外表上看一點(diǎn)也不像廁所,但是直覺告訴我,這就是廁所。我確實(shí)也憋不住了,不得不去試一下。當(dāng)我推開門時(shí),我認(rèn)定我弄錯(cuò)了,立即退了出來(lái)。因?yàn)槲铱吹降姆块g比我在北京的客廳還要大。房間里鋪著漂亮的綠色地毯,古色古香的桌子旁有一個(gè)落地臺(tái)燈。房間的一側(cè)放著一個(gè)相當(dāng)漂亮的棕色長(zhǎng)沙發(fā),沙發(fā)上方有一個(gè)覆蓋了一面墻的大鏡子頂著天花板。房間的另一側(cè)在桌子旁是一對(duì)單人沙發(fā)。房間的一角放著衣架,另一角放著一個(gè)種有綠色植物的大花盆,看上去像個(gè)豪華賓館的休息室,一點(diǎn)不像廁所,但是這又是惟一可能是廁所的地方。納悶時(shí)我記起這個(gè)房間里還有一個(gè)門,我決然走進(jìn)去,把門翻開。如釋重負(fù)!我終于找到了廁所。它只有外面休息室一半大小的面積,有兩個(gè)便座和兩個(gè)洗手池、這太奢侈了!像是個(gè)兩居室住所。AfterIrelievedmyself,anotherquestionoccurredtome:sinceitwasimpossibleforsuchabiglibrarytohaveonlyonetoilet,Ihadtoasksomeoneabouttoilets.A“RestRoom”isalsoatoilet.The“rest”hadonlyoneseatanditwasunisex.Bothwomenandmencoulduseitbylockingthedoorfromtheinside.完恭后,我又想,這么大的一個(gè)圖書館不可能只有這么一個(gè)廁所,我不得不去請(qǐng)教別人?!靶菹⑹摇保菐牧硪淮~。它只有一個(gè)便座,而且是不分性別的.,誰(shuí)進(jìn)去只要把門反鎖上就可專用。Torefertoatoiletasa“restroom”ismilesapartfromtheChineseideaofatoilet.Ineverrelatedthe“restroom”witha“toilet”。HereatYale,whenIuseatoiletdesignated“women”,IfeelmyselfaqueenandenjoylookingatmyselfinalargemirrortoseeifIamproperlyattired.Andwhenusinga“restroom”,Idohaveafeelingofrest,becauseitiscleanandhasawindowwithabeautifulview.“休息室”與中文廁所的概念相距十萬(wàn)八千里。我從沒把“休息室”與“廁所”聯(lián)絡(luò)在一起。而在耶魯,當(dāng)我使用標(biāo)?;women“的廁所時(shí),真有點(diǎn)像當(dāng)上了皇后的感覺,在休息室大鏡子前面自我欣賞一番,整理二下自己的穿著。當(dāng)我使用”休息室“時(shí),確實(shí)領(lǐng)會(huì)到休息的實(shí)在含意,因?yàn)樾菹⑹掖懊鲙變簦巴怙L(fēng)光迷人。MyexperiencewiththetoiletatYalehasenlightenedmeastowhyAmericanvisitorsoftenaskedforthetoiletwhentheyarrivedatouruniversity:theymayhaveneededtorelievethemselvesbuttheymayhaveneededmoretomakesurethattheywerepresentablebeforemeetingourpresident.Itisakindofmomentofprivacythattheyneed.Icanimaginehowdisappointedtheymusthavebeenwhentheyfoundnomirrorsinourtoilets!Theirtoiletshavemorefunctionsthanours.在耶魯大學(xué)使用廁所的經(jīng)歷,使我明白了為什么以前美國(guó)來(lái)賓到我們學(xué)校時(shí),總會(huì)問“廁所在哪里?”,如今回想起來(lái),她們有可能是要使用廁所,但更需要的是在去見校長(zhǎng)前,梳理化裝一番。她們需要一點(diǎn)“隱私”的時(shí)間。我可以想象,當(dāng)她們發(fā)現(xiàn)我們的廁所里沒有鏡子時(shí),會(huì)多么沮喪。她們的廁所功能遠(yuǎn)比我們的多。Iwonderwhatthemovieistryingtosay.Fromoneperspective,itimpliesthatintelligence(asmeasuredbyIQsandthegeneralideaofwhat“smart”is)isaveryunnecessarytrait.ButIthinkonecanlookbeyondthatandsaythatchildlikeinnocence,whichcanbeconsideredstupid,hasitsrewards.Throughoutthemovie,Gumpisinsituationswhereheisharassedbyotherpeoplebuthenevertakesoffense(except,ofcourse,whenhisgirlJennyisbeingabused)atanyoftheinsultsthrownathim.Heisindeednotpletelystupid,eventhoughheisportrayedassuch,sincehecanre-assemblegunsathighspeed,runlikecrazy,playping-ponglikeamaniac,andsoon.Thetraditionalmaleheroesthatwehavehadarealldysfunctionalinsomerespectoranotherandwearelostwithoutheroes,asBloompointsout.Gumpisanewkindofarole-model;he'sANiceBoyandeveryoneknowsthey'rehardtofind.Asonereviewersaid:“TodaythelastAmericanheroisaTomHankscharacterwithasmallIQ”.ForestGumpistherunawayhitmovieofthissummer.篇4:四級(jí)晨讀美文Itdoesn’tinterestmewhatyoudoforaliving.Iwanttoknowwhatyouachefor,andifyoudaretodreamofmeetingyourheart’slonging.Itdoesn’tinterestmehowoldyouare.Iwanttoknowifyouwillrisklookinglikeafoolforlove,foryourdreams,fortheadventureofbeingalive.Itdoesn’tinterestmewhatplasaresquaringyourmoon.Iwanttoknowifyouhavetouchedthecenterofyourownsorrow,ifyouhavebeenopenedbylife’sbetrayalsorhavebeeshriveledandclosedfromfearoffurtherpain!Itdoesn’tinterestmeifthestoryyou’retellingmeistrue.Iwanttoknowifyou
