Therearemanyoccasionsinourlivesonwhichwemayfeellikegivingup,suchasaccidents,losingthebelovedone,terminalillness,failinginanimportantexam,losingajob,andsoon.Thoselifechangingeventscanstrikeuswithoutwarning,oftentimesseveralatatime,seeminglylayeruponlayer,weighingusdown.Itseemsthattheseasoflifearesoroughandstormythatwearelikelytogetwearytryingtokeepourlittleboatfromsinking.

在我們的生活中，有大量時候我們都萌生了放棄的念頭，例如在事故中失去了所愛的人，或是處在了疾病的晚期，重要考試的失利，失去工作等。在生活中有大量事情都能悄無聲息地將我們打倒，有好幾次都是一件事接著一件事的給我們致命一擊。貌似生命的大海巨浪滔天，我們努力著不讓我們的那艘小船淹沒，有時我們也會疲憊。

However,ifwehavehopes,wewillnotletthoselifechangingeventsgetthebestofusandsuccumbtohelplessness.Firstly,thoughhopeisnotanobjectiveexistence,itcanarouseoptimisticfeelingsforthefuture.Asmanypsychologists’researchindicates,reflectingonone’sfailuresisgenerallygood,butwhenittakestoomuchtime,itisdangerous,foritsoonbecomesaself-fulfillingprophecythatwillquicklybreakeverysliceofconfidencethatwehaveinourselves.Thatishowthosewhodonothavehopesdealwiththeseupsanddowns.However,ifpeoplehavehopesandalwayslookforwardtothefuture,theyareabletoenvisionasubjectivepictureofbrightnessintheirmind,andtakedifferentmeasurestoliveahappylife.

Confidenceisextremelyimportantinalmosteveryaspectofourlife.Itissaidthatconfidenceisoftenthesingleingredientthatdistinguishesasuccessfulpersonfromsomeonelesssuccessful.Yetmanypeopleonlygoverntheirbehaviorsbasedonwhatotherpeoplethink，stayintheirowncomfortzonesfearingfailureandsoavoidingtakingrisks，andoftentimesworkhardtocoverupmistakesandpraythattheycanfixtheproblembeforeanyonewiser.Forthoselow-confidencepeople，theybearintheirmindthatsomepeoplearemorecompetent，morebeautiful，muchwealthierthanthem，andhencetheyarereducedtofrustrations.

自信對于生活的各個方面都分外重要。人們常說自信是區(qū)分告成和失敗的唯一因素。但是，人們總是依據(jù)別人對自己的想法行事，人們總是夢想待在舒適區(qū)域中，他們畏縮失敗，制止危害。有時，人們總是夢想通過努力工作來掩蓋錯誤，并夢想他們是第一個解決問題的人。對于那些不自信的人來說，他們會認為有大量人都比他們聰明、美麗、富有，這將會讓他們感到頹唐。

However，confidenceshouldnotbeaffectedbythosedifferencesintermsofappearance，wealth，andfamilyconnections.Firstly，peoplecannotimprovetheirfinancialsituationsandchangetheirappearancesovernight，theyarelikelytochangetheirmindsettobecomeconfident.Forthosewhobelievethatconfidenceisbasedonwealth，appearance，andotherexternalfactors，theirconfidenceismeasuredbyexternalfactors.Inlinewiththisbelief，wecanassumethatonlythewealthy，thebeautiful，thehandsomeandthefamousareconfident.Ithinkthisisnotthecase.Inourdailylives，therearepeoplewhoearnmeagersalariesbutstillareconfidentoftheirfutureswhohavecounteddaysduetoterminalcancersbutarestillconfidentoffulfillingtheirchildhooddreams.Ifthosepeoplebasetheirconfidenceincurrentsituations，theyaredoomedtolivegloomyandsadlives，fortheperceptionofoneselfhasanenormousimpactonwhattheywilldointheirdailylife.Therefore，confidenceisbuiltfromwithininsteadofexternalfactors.

但是，自信不理應(yīng)受到外貌、家庭、資產(chǎn)的影響。首先，人們無法一夜之間變更自己的經(jīng)濟狀況，變更自己的容貌，但是他們可以讓自己變得更加自信。對于那些相信自信是來自資產(chǎn)、外貌、以及其他外界因素的人來說，他們的自信受到了外界的影響。對于這些人，我們認為只有美觀、告成的人擁有自信。我不這么認為。在日常的生活中，有大量人收入微薄，但是，那些患有癌癥而進入晚期的病人，他們照舊感到自信，他們還夢想能夠?qū)崿F(xiàn)兒時的理想。假設(shè)這些人能夠把自信付諸于現(xiàn)實之中，那么，他們的生活將會一籌莫展，由于人們的思想將會對生活造成重大的影響。所以，自信來自心里，而非外界。
