astheGardenontheSea.Itissurroundedbythesea,andhasbeautifullandscape.In1988,itwaslistedasoneofthestate-levelscenicspots.Itistheonly“on-foot”islandwithfreshairbecausetherearenovehicles.TheSunlightRockalsoknownasHuangyan,theSunlightRockislocatedonthetopofLongtouMountain(Dragon’sHead)southofGulangyuIsland.Itisthehighestpeakinthisarea,92.68metersabovethesealevel.Onthetopoftherock,thereisaroundterrace,whereonecangetapanoramicviewofXiamen.Inthisarea,therearesuchplacesofinterestastheLotusNunneryandMemorialHalltoZhengChenggong,anationalherowhoreoccupiedTaiwanfromtheDutch.Therearealsocaves,ruinsofancientcities,andcliffcarvingsShuzhuangGarden,formerlyaprivategarden,wasbuiltin1931atthefootoftheSunlightRock,facingthesea,withtheSea-viewHolidayVillageintheeast,andthebathingbeachoftheRearSeainthewest.Thegardenconsistsoftwoparts,Canghai(HidingtheSea)andBushan(AddingSupplementtotheMountain).Themainstructure,the44thBridge,wasbuiltonthesea.Walkingonthebridgewhentiderises,itseemsasifonewerewalkingonthewaves.Thegardeniselegant,yetgrandindesign.XiamenUniversity泉州路54號(hào)魚
