championshipindividualfrequently,andsomeattheNationalYouthChampionships.Nationalcomprehensive,multi-projectcompetitionsaretheNationalGames,theArcticWinterGamesandtheNorthGames.NationalGamesin1967,the100thanniversaryofthefirst-everCanadaDay,heldevery4yearslater1.ArcticWinterGames,firstheldin1972,afterholdingameetingeverytwoyears.Itisactuallyagrandfestivals,inadditiontogeneralsports,thereareanumberofunique"Arcticsports,"suchasonelegorfoothighkick,kneesjumpropegymnastics.NorthernGamesfirstheldin1970,heldameetingeachyear,inadditiontogeneralandlocalsportscompetitionstraditionalsport,butalsounderthenorthernIndianandEskimowayofcelebratingthetraditionalfestivalorganizedavarietyofculturalperformances.CanadianparticipationinITEMOFSPORTinternationalcompetitionsarethePanAmericanGames,CommonwealthGamesandOlympicGames.1976Olympicsand1978CommonwealthGameswereheldinCanada.Canada,somesportsprestigiousintheworld.It'salonglonghistoryofhockey.60'sfamous19thcenturyCanadiandentalG.Biercewrotethefirstoneministerhockeyrules,knownasthe"fatheroflacrosse."In1904and1908thetwoOlympics,Canadawonthegoldmedalinlacrosseall.Eachprovinceandterritorynowhasanationallacrosseassociationmembershiporganization,registeredwith20millionormoremembers.OlympicGamesin1904,CanadabecamethefirstonetoobtainthenationalOlympicfootballchampions.Icehockeywasalsoverywidelycarriedout,theCanadianhockeyhasbeenthehighestintheworld.FigureskatingisalsoverycommontocarryoutoneoftheicehockeyThefirsticehockeygamewasin1856,asmalltowninCanada-Halifaxheld.15peopleplayeachside,tryingtogettheballintotheothergoalforthewin.Thegameofthematchheldsoonarousedto1858,Canada'snationalicehockeytopopularandsoonspreadtoEurope.March3,1857,theVictoriarinkinMontreal,Canadahelditsfirstofficialhockeygame.In1885,theNordiccountriesarealsotheriseoftheicehockey,thistimehasbeenchangedtosevenpeopleperteamtoplaythecompetition.In1890,theworld'sfirsticehockeyorganization-OntarioHockeyAssociationwasfounded,rapidlygrowingpopularityoficehockeyinCanada,directtheWestCoast.Then,icehockeyclubsacrossthecountryhavebeenestablished.IcehockeysoonspreadtoEurope,firstintheUnitedKingdom,Switzerland,France,Belgiumandothercountriesstarted.baseballSinceenteringthe21stcenturyinCanadatobecometheinternationalarena,andevenhigh-prooftheAlliance,severalCanadianplayersinrecentyearsbecomeagoodmajorleaguestarplayers,cutmoreplayersintotheminorleaguestadium,directlyenhancetheCanadianbaseballstrength.2004AthensOlympicGamesbaseballtournamentisthefirstCanadianbaseballteameightfinalists,andultimatelyinthebronzemedalmatchin2to11losstotheJapanesebaseballteam,missedthemedals.Canada,throughtheOlympicGamesfinalqualifying,with6winsand1recordcameoutontopfinalistsBeijingOlympics,accordingtoschedule,theCanadian
