【旅游英語(yǔ):Hollywood英語(yǔ)介紹】旅游英語(yǔ)旅游英語(yǔ):Hollywood英語(yǔ)介紹旅游英語(yǔ):Hollywood英語(yǔ)介紹導(dǎo)語(yǔ):好萊塢(Hollywood),又稱荷里活,位于美國(guó)西海岸加利福尼亞州洛杉磯郊外,依山傍水,景色宜人?!昂萌R塢”一詞往往直接用來(lái)指美國(guó)的電影工業(yè),由于美國(guó)許多著名電影公司設(shè)立于此,故經(jīng)常被與美國(guó)電影和影星聯(lián)系起來(lái),好萊塢是世界聞名的電影中心,每年在此舉辦的奧斯卡頒獎(jiǎng)典禮則是世界電影的盛會(huì)。Ifasingleplace-nameencapsulatestheLAdreamofglamor,moneyandovernightsuccess,it“sHollywood.Millionsoftouristsarriveonpilgrimages;millionsmoreflockhereinpursuitofrichesandglory.Hollywoodisaweirdcombinationofinsatiableoptimismandtotaldespair.Itreallydoesblurtheedgesoffactandfictionsimplybecausesomuchseemspossibleandyetsolittleformostpeople,actuallyis.Thosewhodostrikeitrichheregetoutassoonastheycan,justastheyalwayshave;thebigfilmcompanies,too,longagorelocatedwellaway,leavingHollywoodinisolation,withprostitution,drugdealingandseedybookstoresastherealitybehindthefantasy.CentralHollywoodThemyths,magic,fableandfantasysplatteredthroughoutthefewshortblocksofCentralHollywoodwouldputamedievalfairytaletoshame.Arichsenseofnostalgiapervadesthearea,givingitanappealnomeasureoftouristsorsouvenirpostcardstandscandiminish.Althoughyou“remuchmorelikelytofindapornotheaterthanspotarealstar,thedeclinewhichblightedHollywoodfromtheearly1960sisfastreceding.Neverthelesstheplacestillgetshairyafterdark,withadolescentscruisingHollywoodBoulevardincustomizedcarsandoccasionalpettycriminalsontheprowlfortheoddpocketbook.ThenaturalplacetobeginexploringHollywoodBoulevardisthejunctionofHollywoodandVinetheclassiclocationforbuddingstarstobe"spotted"bybig-shotdirectorsandwhiskedofftofameandfortune.At6608HollywoodBlvd,thepurpleandpinkFrederick"sofHollywoodhasbeen(under-)clothingHollywood"ssexgoddessessince1947,aswellasmortalbodiesallovertheworldviamailorder.Inside,thelingeriemuseum(free)displayssomeofthecompany"sbestcorsets,brasandpanties,donatedbyhappybig-namewearersrangingfromLanaTurnertoCher.Alittlefurtheron,theEgyptianTheateratno.6708wasfinancedbyimpresarioSidGrauman,inamodestattempttore-createtheTempleofThebes.TheveryfirstHollywoodpremiere(RobinHood)tookplaceherein1922.Nowownedbythecity,Grauman"sThebesiscurrentlyclosedforrenovationsaspartofathree-yearplantorestorethefakemummiesandhieroglyphicsofthistempleofcinematotheirformergloryandremakethetheaterintoacenterforfilmstudy.NoHollywoodvisitorwillwanttomissthemundaneyetmagicalfootandhandprintsintheconcreteconcourseofthe1927ChineseTheatreat6925HollywoodBlvd.ActressNormaTalmadge(supposedlybyaccident)trodinwetcementwhilevisitingtheconstructionsiteandthepracticehascontinuedeversince,startingwithMaryPickfordandDouglasFairbanksSr,attheopeningofKingofKings,andrecentlyinvolvingstarssuchasAlPacino.Throughthehalcyondecades,thiswasthespotformoviefirst-nights.Asforthebuildingit"sanoddwesternversionofaclassicalChinesetemplerepletewithdodgyChinesemotifsandupturneddragontailflanks.TheRooseveltHoteloppositewasmovieland"sfirstluxuryhotelitsCinegrillrestauranthostingthelikesofWCFieldsandFScottFitzgeraldnottomentionhangers-onlikeRonaldReagan.In1929thefirstOscarswerepresentedhere,beginningthelongtraditionofHollywoodrewardingitselfintheabsenceofhonorsfromelsewhere.Despitethebeliefsofsomeoftheirloopiestfans,eventhebiggestHollywoodstarshavebeenmortal;themanyLAcemeteriesthatholdtheirtombsgetatleastasmanyvisitorsasthecity"smuseums.InthesoutheastcorneroftheHollywoodMemorialCemetery,nearSantaMonicaBoulevardandGowerStreet,amausoleumcontainstherestingplaceofRudolphValentino,thecelebratedscreenloverwhodiedagedjust31in1926.Tothisdayoneachanniversaryofhispassing(August23),atleastone"LadyinBlack"ashisposthumousdevoteesareknownwilllikelybefoundmourning.TheachinglyostentatiousmemorialtoDouglasFairbanksSr,whowithhiswifeMaryPickforddidmuchtointroducesocialsnobberyamongmovie-makingpeople,isjustoutside.AlsoonviewarethegravesofHollywood"smorerecentlydeceasedinhabitants:anincreasinglylargepopulationofRussianandArmenianimmigrants.GriffithParkThegentlegreeneryandruggedmountainslopesthatmakeupvastGriffithParknortheastofHollywood(daily5am10.30pm,mountainroadscloseatdusk;free)areawelcomeescapefromthemind-numbinghubbubofthecity.ThelandmarkObservatory(TuesFri210pm,SatSun12.3010pm;free)herehasbeenseenininnumerableHollywoodfilmsmostfamouslyRebelWithoutaCause,andthesurroundingacresadduptothelargestmunicipalparkinthecountry,oneofthefewplaceswhereLA"smultitudeofracialandsocialgroupsatleastgothroughthemotionsofmixingtogether.Abovethelandscapedflatsections,thehillsidesareroughandwildmarkedonlybyfootandbridlepathsleadingintodesolatebutappealinglyunspoiledterrainthatgivesgreatviewsovertheLAbasinandouttotheocean,providedthecitysmogisn"ttoothick.OnewaytoexploreisonarentedbikefromWoody"sBicycleWorld,3157LosFelizBlvd(213/661-6665)ashortdistanceaway.Theparkissafeenoughbydaybutitsreputationforafter-darkviolenceiswellfounded.HollywoodHillsTheviewsfromtheHollywoodHillstakeinabizarreassortmentofopulentproperties.Aroundthesecanyonsandslopes,whichrunfromHollywooditselfintoBenedictCanyonaboveBeverlyHills,mansionsaresocommonplacethatonlythehalf-dozenfullyblowncastle
