ClimateYouneedtostudyclimatechange.Whichaspectofclimatechangewillyouchooseandwhy?UseAllovertheworldtoday,itcanbeobservedthattheissueofclimatechangehasgrowninimportanceoverthepastfewdecades.Therefore,ifIweregivenclimateasmyfieldofstudy,Iwouldliketostudytheunderlyingcausesofthedevastatingglobalwarmingphenomenonandpossiblesolutionstotacklethis.Tobeginwith,avarietyofreasonscanbeofferedtoexinwhyIwouldchoosethisparticularareaofstudy.Foremostamongtheseisthefactthatwehavebeenexperiencingthehottest15yearsonrecordinthelasttwodecades.Linkedtothisisthefactthatmillionsareatriskofdrought,chronicwatershortages,bushfire,coastalfloodingandhazardousairpollution.Astheabove-mentionedpointsmakeitclear,itcanhardlybedeniedthattheissuesofclimatechangemustbeaddressedwithasenseofurgency.Butwhatreallyistheproperroleforindividualsandinstitutionsinaddressingclimatechange?Animmediateandnaturalresponsemaybethateveryoneshoulddotheirpart.Asindividuals,wecanhelpbytakingactiontoreduceour alcarbonemissions.Buttofullyaddressthethreatofglobalwarming,wemustdemandactionfromourelectedleaderstosupportandimplementacomprehensivesetofclimatesolutionssuchastransformingourenergysystemtoacleanerone,cinglimitsontheamountofcarbonthatpollutersareallowedtoemit,reducingtropicaldeationanditsassociatedglobalwarmingemissions.Inconclusion,Itismyconsideredopinionthatifweweretoputincesomeofthesolutionsmentioned,wewouldatleastbeonourwaytosolvingthisproblem.Therefore,Iwouldliketoymyparttocontributetothesolutionofclimatechange.Butwhatreallyistheproperroleforindividualsandinstitutionsinaddressingclimatechange?Animmediateandnaturalresponsemaybethateveryoneshoulddotheirpart.Decisionsaffectingcarbondioxide(CO2)emissions,forexample,aremadeprimarilybycompaniesandconsumers.Thisincludesdecisionsbycompaniesabouthowtoproduceelectricity,aswellasthousandsofothergoodsandservices;anddecisionsbyconsumersregardingwhattobuy,howtotransportthemselves,andhowtokeeptheirhomeswarm,cool,andlight.Inordertoeffectivelyaddressglobalwarming,wemustsignificantlyreducetheamountofheat-trapemissionsweareputtingintotheatmosphere.Asindividuals,wecanhelpbytakingactiontoreduceour
