wasoneofthefirstgroupstoperformhip-hop.Inthelate1970s,musicproducerSylviaRobinsonrealizedthathip-hopwasbecomingapopularpartofstreetcelebrations.ShedecidedtofindthreeMCsinherneighborhoodinEnglewood,NewJersey,andhavethemsingtogether.ThemencalledthemselvesWonderMike,BigBankHank,andMasterGee.TheywentontosingoneofAmerica'sfavoritesongsof1979,"Rapper'sDelight."TheSugarhillGangwasoneofEricB&RakimwasanotherAmericangroupthatchangedthesoundofhip-hop.Innineteeneighty-six,sixteenyearoldRakimstartedtoworkwiththeNewYorkCitymusicproducer,EricB.Rakimaddeddifferentbeatstothemusicandbeganusingpoeticwordstospreadhismessage.ThetwomusiciansproducedfourCDstogether.Asanindividualmusician,RakimcreatedfourotherCDs.Onesongthatmadethetwofamousis"EricBisPresident".Manyinternationalsociallyconsciouship-hopartistssaytheybecameinterestedinhip-hopwhentheyheardRakim.EricB&RakimwasanotherAmeTheimpactofthestyleonoursocietyandworld
