Thestructuraldocumentsincludefoundationplansanddetails,structuralfloorframingplans,roofframingplans,columnschedules,structuraldetails,structuralnotes,anddesignloads,aswellasthestructuralspecifications.

BiddingAftercompletionofthecontractdocuments,theownerandarchitectpreparethebiddingdocuments.Biddingdocumentsareusedtogetherwithcontractdocumentstoobtainbidsfromcontractorsfortheconstructionofthebuilding.Theownerandarchitectsolicitbidsfromqualifiedcontractors,usingthesedocuments.ContractAwardandSubcontractsThesteelsubcontractwillspecifythedetailedtermsofthebuilding’ssteelportionOrderingSteeluponexecutionofthesteelsubcontract,thesteelfabricatorimmediatelyplacesanorderwiththesteelmillforproductionandfurnishingofthestructuralsteelshapesShopDrawingsandErectionDrawingsTheshopdrawingsareusedtoillustratehowthesteelfabricatorintendstocomplywiththecontractdocuments,aswellasthedimensionalanddetailedaspectsofthefabrication.Theerectiondrawingsindicatethedetailedconfigurationofthesteelframeandlocateeachmemberofsteelwithpiecemarks.FabricationandDeliveryFabricationinvolveshandlingofthestockmembers,cuttingthemtosize,punchinganddrillingforconnections,andpreparingtheconnections,aswellasshoppaintingorfinisheswhenrequired.

ErectionSteelerectionbeginswhenthesteelhasbeenfabricatedandthefoundationiscompletedtoapointwhereitisreadytoreceivesteel.Steelerectionisconductedbythesteelerector.10.2InstructionstoBiddersGeneralScopeofBidandSourceofFundsBidDataSheet(BDS)describesthebiddersinvitedbyemployerforprocurementofworksunderproject,thenameofpackageandmajorworkcontentsConditiontoParticipateinBiddingAbiddershallhavefulleligibilityasstipulatedintheBDSandmeetrequirementmentionedinBiddingNotice(inthecaseofopenbidding)orInvitationtoBid(inthecaseoflimitbiddingoropenbiddingwithprequalification).EligibilityofMaterials,EquipmentOfferedBiddersarerequestedtofurnishthenecessaryinformationregardingtheoriginofthematerialsandequipmentsofferedBiddingDocumentsandClarificationofBiddingDocumentsThefacilitiesrequired,biddingprocedures,contracttermsandtechnicalrequirementsareprescribedinthebiddingdocumentsSiteVisitInnecessarycases,theemployershallguidethebiddertovisitandexaminethesitefollowingtheregulationsinthebiddingdocuments.AmendmentofBiddingDocumentsIncaseitisnecessarytoamendScopeofWorksorotherrequiredcontents,theemployerwillconductamendmentofthebiddingdocuments,includingextensionofdeadlineforsubmissionofthebidifnecessary,bysendingtheamendmentdocumenttoallbiddersPreparationofBidsThebidpreparedbythebiddershallcomprisethefollowingcomponents:(1)BidLetter;(2)BidpricesandBidpriceschedule;(3)DocumentaryevidenceestablishedinaccordancewithITBthatthebidderiseligibletobidandisqualifiedtoperformthecontractifitsbidisaccepted;(4)DocumentaryevidenceestablishedinaccordancewithITBthatthematerialsandequipmentstobesuppliedbythebidderareeligib1eandconformtothebiddingdocuments;(5)BidsecurityfurnishedinaccordancewithITB;(6)Technicalproposal;(7)anyotherdocumentrequiredintheBDS.SubmissionofBidsBidsmustbedeliveredbyhandorbyposttotheemployerbeforethedeadlinespecifiedinthebiddingdocuments.Anybidincludingletterofdiscount(ifany)receivedbytheemployerafterthedeadlineforsubmissionofbidshallbeconsideredaslatebid,andwillberejectedandreturnedunopenedtothebidder.Ifthebidderwantstomodifyorwithdrawthesubmittedbid,thebidderhastorequestitinwriting,andtheemployerapprovesonlyiftheletterofrequestisreceivedbeforethedeadlineforsubmissionofbid.BidOpeningandEvaluationBidOpeningTheemployershallopenthebidsinpubliconthedateandlocationprescribedintheBDSinthepresenceofbidders’designatedrepresentativesandanyonewhochoosestoattend.Evaluation1.PreliminaryevaluationBid,whichdoesnotmeetoneoftheessentialrequirementsintheBDS,willberejectedandthebidwillnotbefurtherevaluated.Bidders’capacityandexperienceshallbeevaluatedonthebasisofEvaluationandPrequalificationCriteria.2.TechnicalevaluationTheemployerwillassessqualificationofbidders(technicalandfinancialcapability)basedonrequirementsofthebiddingdocumentsandevaluationcriteria.Theemployershallverifyevaluatedpricesaccordingtothefollowingsequence:verificationofbidprice;errorcorrection;editionofthedeviations;conversionofbidpriceintoacommoncurrency(ifany);andsetallbidpricetothesamelevel.BidAwardConditionsforConsideringandOfferingBidAwardThebidderswillbeconsideredandofferedabidawardwhentheysatisfyallthefollowingconditions:(1)ItshallhavetheresponsiveBD.(2)Itisassessedtosatisfytherequirementsofcapacityandexperience.(3)Itshallhavethetechnicalproposalsthatareevaluatedtomeettherequirementsincompliancewiththebid.(4)Itshallhavethelowestevaluatedpriceinaccordancewiththeprovisionsinthebid.(5)Itshallhavethebidaward-offeringpricethatisnotovertheapprovedpriceoftheworks.NoticeoftheBidResults,Negotiation,CompletionandContractSigningPriortoexpirationoftheperiodofbidvalidityprescribed
