Inastrikingparellel,15yearslaterlwasonceagainconfrontedwithlife'sfragility,
thistimewithmymother.shewasdiagnosedwithanaggressiveformofleukemia,
butfortunately,thistimearoundwedidhaveinsurancecoveragethatpaidforher
treatmentandultimatelysavedherlife.
Thisiswhentrulygraspedtheimportanceofinsuranceinpeople'slives,and

ideacrossedmymindwhatifICould"convertthecaloriesburnedexercising
intocaloriesoffoodforchildreninneed?",whatifwecoulduse"purposeasa
motivator"andgetpeopleactiveandhealthyyknowingthattheircaloriesof
exercisewouldbeconvertedintolifesavingnutrition?whatifwecouldleverage
