Peopleoftensay:Teacheristheengineerofhumanspirit.LastSeptember,Ibecameateacher.Howtobecomearealteacher?ThisisthefirstdifficultythatIcomeacrossinmycareer.Atfirst,Ifeltsogoodandfuntostaywithsomanylovelystudents,thenIintegratedwiththem,andsoon,theproblemcameout.Ifateachercan’tsetupherdignityinfrontofthestudents,itwillmaketheclassteachingmoredifficult.Inmylessons,thestudentsoftenkeptontalking,acting,andaskingquestions.WhatshouldIdo?Ican’tgetalongwiththemlikethisanymore.Imustbestrictwiththem.Paymoreattentiontowhatshouldbepraised,whatshouldbecriticized.Anycarelessnessisnotpermitted.Atlast,theclassdisciplinebecamebetter.

SinceIfirststeepedonmyplatform,IhavedecidedtobeagoodandsuccessfulEnglishteacher.However,inmyclass,whenIgavelessonstomystudents,filledwithenthusiasmandpassion,someofthestudentsalwayslookedsotiredandsleepy.WhenIspentmuchofmytimepreparingformylessons,tryingmybesttomakemylessonsvividandinteresting,theteachingeffectandfeedbackwasnotthatIhade*pected.Moreover,whenIwaswillingandeagertoteachthemallthatI’velearned,theirabilitiesofEnglishwerestillmediocre.Iwaslookingforthereasons.AndIwasalwaysaskingmyself:AmIgoodandsuccessful?HowcanIbegoodandsuccessful?

Therewereofcoursemanycomplicatedreasonsandfactors.Andinmyopinion,whetherIamgoodornot,includesmanyfactorssuchasmyknowledge,mypersonality,myquality,mymethods,teachingartandsoon.Absolutely,tobeagoodandsuccessfulEnglishteacherisnotaneasyjob.Ineedtohaveane*cellentcommandofEnglishmyselftomakemystudentsappreciatemeandenjoymyclass.Ineedtohavetheabilitiestoprovideacomfortableandrela*ingatmosphereandenvironmentforthestudents’study.Ihavetoadoptefficientandvariousteachingmethodstomystudents’level.Ineedtodevelopmyteachingartandskills.Ishouldmakefullofeachstudent’sabilityandalwaysencouragethemtogivethemconfidence.Therefore,“Liveandlearn”and“nevertoooldtolearn”havebeenthemottosI’veadopted.Imustimprovemyownabilitiesandskillsofteaching,tokeepupwiththerapiddevelopmentofourinformationageandsociety.

I’velearnedtobethestudents’teacher,theireldersister,theirfriend,theirmotherandsoon.Ishowmycareandloveforthem.Whenevertheyareintrouble,beingsick,feelingblueorinabadmood,Iamthepersonthatwilltrytotakecareofthem,talkwiththemortrytohelpthembalancethemselvesingoodcondition.Irespectandtrustthem.Whentheyfallinlovewithsb.,quarrelwithfriends,cannotgetalongwellwithparents,etc.I’llanalyzetheprosandcons,theadvantagesanddisadvantages,andgivethemsomeopinionsorsuggestions.Isympathizewithandunderstandthem.Whentheybreaktherulesordosomethingwrongcarelessly,Iwillhelpthemoutoftroubleinsteadofscoldingthem.Iamalwaysstrictwiththemandalsoplacehighandenthusiastichopesonthemtomakethembestrictwiththemselvesandbeconfidentofthemselves.
